*Update* Making Shrink Plastic Pins (Patreon)

I made 2 new shrink plastic pins for my Etsy shop today :)

I´m planning a little shop update with a restock of my snail mail stickers, new garden stickers, and these 2 shrinky pins. When you like this kind of pins I will make more of them, but for now, I go with two of them for my shop as it´s a lot of work to make them and I´m afraid that nobody will buy them haha.

I make them out of shrink plastic. You can buy transparent or white shrink plastic sheets in nearly every craft store or on amazon (please support your local craft stores before you order on amazon). 

I tried the transparent a year ago and I don´t really like the effect of colored pencils on it, for markers it works well but I like the colored pencils effect more as you know :) 

So this time I bought the white sheets and I´m absolutely impressed by the result!! I draw with Prismacolor crayons on the sheets, just like I would normally draw on paper and it works sooo good!

Since the pins are then baked and shrink by around 40%, make sure that you draw your design a lot larger.

Then you just have to cut your illustrations carefully out of the sheet and bake them at 125 degrees in the oven. 

After they are baked I also glaze them with gloss varnish, so that they look shiny! :)

In the end I glued a pin badge on the back. 

Then I had to make backing cards. I´ve drawn the backing cards in procreate and printed them. After printing, I glued them on thicker cards as my printer can´t print on thick paper 🙈
