Hello you!

I made this illustration for March Mail Club goodies and wanted to share a little process breakdown with you!

Really happy with how this one turned out! I had quite a rough time picking the colors but I think they turned out very good so it was worth it to play around with them for a bit longer.

Here is a very quick walkthrough of this illustration, from sketch to drawing in the base colors, adding lines, textures, and drawing the details:

The process of this one went a little bit like this:

First I sketched my idea

Then I reduce the opacity of that sketch layer to make a color test on a new layer above it - I haven´t shown that here, but this was the part that took me the longest amount of time because I had to play around with the colors to find the right ones.

Then I start to fill in the base colors of the background and all the elements in the illustration and also already add texture to some of them

After that, I added linework to the plants and also drew some more background plants like the grass

Then I drew all the textures and details on the plants. I also added light to the flowers in that step.

In the last step, I drew the cute little duck and added some more details to the ground

I hope you like this little walkthrough!

Wish you a lovely day/evening!

I always have trouble with drawing my art without the lineart. I always see people doing it perfectly, like you did. But mine feel just... Unfinished i guess. Even if my plan was nit to have lineart. Eh... You did great job here!

oh it took me soooo long to feel confident drawing without line art! so you´re not alone haha :) it also always felt like it´s unfinished and I still prefer drawing with lines but like to try new things every now and then and also practice to draw without lines!
