Income Streams as an Artist - Part 2 (Patreon)
Content
Part 1 of "income streams as an artist" is already available on my Patreon and as there are still a lot of possible income streams out there for artists I decided to make a part 2!
If you haven't read part 1, here it is:https://www.patreon.com/posts/income-streams-1-82889132
So the theme for this month is:
"Possible income streams as an Artist - PART 2"
1. Patreon
I think Patreon is the next big income stream all artists are thinking of after thinking of opening a shop! But the thing with Patreon is that you definitely need a following to get Patrons, which you don´t need for a Shop because there are lots of other ways to promote it.
You also have to think of that Patreon is a lot of work every single month, depending on the rewards you want to provide. But it´s definitely also a lot of fun and one of my favorite income streams!
2. Online Courses - Selling your knowledge
Another very good income stream is selling Online Courses or selling your knowledge in any other way like in E-Books.
Creating, promoting and selling online courses is definitely a more advanced income stream.I´m also planning to create my first online course for so long now but just can´t find the time to create one.😅
But hopefully, I will find some time at the beginning of next year during January and February as these two months are always a bit slow with shop sales.
3. YouTube
The next income stream I wanna talk about is YouTube!
I would recommend every artist start sharing on YouTube as it´s the only platform where every creator is able to get money!
You need at least 1K Followers and 4K hours of view time within the last 12 months or 10M Short views within the last 90 days to get accepted for YouTube AdSense.
4. Affiliate Marketing & Pinterest
Nearly every artist is also using some affiliate links from Amazon to share the products they are using.
With every click and buy through that link you will get a little bit of money from Amazon.
To get more successful with affiliate marketing you can use Pinterest to share cute photos and videos of the products and add in the affiliate link!
5. Selling Patterns on Spoonflower
If you also create patterns with your art then selling your patterns through Spoonflower is also a great way to make money!
Spoonflower is a platform where you upload your patterns and customers can buy fabric with your patterns that will be printed and sent by Spoonflower.
You have to order samples of your fabric first before you can sell it. That way you can test if the artwork quality is good.
6. Working with Agencies
Then the last income stream I wanna share is working with agencies.
Either if you are a children's book illustrator, a pattern illustrator, or a product design illustrator there are agencies for everything where you can submit your work, and if you are lucky you will get accepted and can work with their clients on amazing projects!
So and these are all the income streams that came to my mind :) If you have any more that you wanna share with then let all of us know in the comments or in our discord server!
I wish you a cozy day/evening!
