Big Patreon Update! (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

After some consideration, I gave the thought of updating my patreon tier prices, however, because of the way Patreon works, I can’t do that without unpublishing and deleting the previous ones and  then opening a new set of price options. So with this, I’ll take the opportunity to also change the format of my updates here on patreon, as well as the benefits of each new tier.

First, instead of the previous weekly updates with illustrations that have alternate versions, I will shift more on narrative work, be it either small comics, short stories, or small animations. This way I can focus on developing my characters and tell their stories! <3

This means that in some ways I won’t be able to give concrete weekly updates every time, however I will commit to create a weekly log of progress with every project I wanna take on, giving you guys also the chance to participate in decisions and include your character as background cameo in them as well!

A punk-rock elephant in the room

In 2021 I started working on a 36 page comic called ‘Meet n Greet’ about a punk-rock band and their fans wanting to meet them, and I got like 7 pages down until I hit a really difficult depressive episode that, compounded with some additional health issues, forced me to stop working and take a break for the better part of 2022.

My intention this year was to continue working on it, picking up from where I left, and finish it all this year. But to my surprise, the script and some of the thumbnails of the other pages were corrupted while migrating them to a backup, ironically. So all of that is gone and now all I have left are some page thumbnails and a rough outline of the story in my mind.

This is especially harrowing to me because this is not the first time I’ve lost the whole script of this comic. I’ve been trying to work on this story since 2017 and I’ve lost work on it twice in the past already before this (I swear this story is definitely cursed at this point haha!)

My plan hasn’t changed though! I want to finish this comic, I’m in love with its story and characters already and I’m committed to see this through. So while I work on rewriting the script, as well as the translations to spanish and japanese, the remaining thumbnails and the rough sketches of the entire comic, I’ll work on smaller stories in the meantime.

So if you’ve been waiting for any sort of update in the story of Ricky and his quest to meet his heroes, fret not! It will resume this year :D
