As some of you guys know, these past few weeks have been a bit chaotic, with lots of highs and lows. Here's how things went down

Before Confuror:

At the end of september i had to put a ton of work on the merch that I was planning to sell at Confuror. the logistics of orering from different suppliers and grouping different orders with other artists to migitate the cost of import tariffs and such was way more stressful and involved than I could've anticipated.

Topple that with the release of the latest patreon build of the Blooming Gardens Visual Novel (check it out here if you're curious!) before the con started and you got the recipe for a fully drained Lynx fighting to stay afloat and having to postpone commissions and work on the comic for the time being haha!

During Confuror:

Things were very busy and chaotic during the convention, but in a good way!

I had a table at the dealer's den, where I would be selling my merch and comics for three days (from Friday to Sunday), Setting everything up wasn't too difficult this time since I had done the same table layout as the previous convention (Pawercon, back in April).

Despite all the preparation, I wouldn've never foreseen selling out of almost all my merch by the saturday evening, before the "Night Market" event took place, where uncensored adult artwork and merchandise was allowed to be sold in public. So Ihad to improvise something, by going out in a city I didn't know, looking up for a prining service and have NSFW artwork printed on the fly, and cutting it all myself, all in the span of an evening.

Despite all the difficulties, trials and tribulations, everything went super well. I sold out of almost everythig I brought with me (Which is why I haven't had the chance to finally open the etsy store again. I was counting on having leftover merch to start selling online XD), met a lot of talented artists, incredible people and even some fans!

I even got some gifts from people that visited my stand, including many many stickers, a ton of candy, whole meals brought to the table, a Digimon TCG fully playable deck in a custom box, and a Lorcana Shimmering Skies starting deck! I can't stress enough how grateful I am for all the kindness and warmth that some shared with me during the event!

By the end of it I was beyond exhausted, both phisically and mentally. But it was all worth it. The con was my first success with irl events!

After Confuror:

The bus back to the convention was an absolute mess. Arguably the worst road experience I've faced in my life.

We left on monday at 11pm on a private bus rented by several artists that attended the con from Mexico City, with the goal of arriving home by 7 or 8am the next day, leaving enough time for me to unpack my stuff, take a quick shower, grab a bite and go to work like nothing happened. The first bus (note how I said first) broke down not even 2 hours after we left the Convention Center. I was too fast asleep to know what had happened, so I just assumed it was a case of good old highway traffic for one reason or another. I woke up at 9am that morning to the news of the bus being broken down and another one on its way to pick us up and continue the journey. That means we spent the entire night in the middle of nowhere sleeping on a broken down bus.

Second bus arrived and after we moved all of our suitcases, boxes, giant cardboard cut outs and other miscellaneous conventions artist stuff, I called work to excuse myself for the day since I obviously wasn't gonna make it. There were still approximately 6 hours of trip left after all. In the second bus, the driver put Zootopia in the screens of the seats (They knew their clients very well it seems), and everything was going a-okay. We made a stop at a gas station to stretch our legs, have a snack or a quick meal and jump back to complete the trip. 30 minutes later, after having a subway sandwich, the driver tells us that the bus is broken down and he made the stop at the gas station to avoid getting stranded in the middle of nowehre again.

At least this time we had the good fortune to be stranded where there's food, wifi, and a place to rechar our phones. Apparently a third bus is on its way already, to complete the trip, but it's taking forever. There seems to be a highway accident and the traffic that's generating is ridiculous. I get another subway, and some snacks from the convenience store next to it. I start feeling a bit run down by the whole ordeal but I just distract myself doodling away on my notebook. until we get kicked out of there since we were all hogging the electrical outlets and wifi lmao.

Back to the bus, it's 7pm and the third bus is nowhere in sight, hasn't even crissed state lines. I'm having cold sweats and shivers already. This isn't looking great. Out of nowhere, another artist is asking who wants a ride to the nearby bus terminal, they're tired of waiting and their cat is on their own so they gotta make it home as fast as they can. Not thinking twice and feeling like something is creeping up within, I jump at the chance and pack myself in that car to the bus terminal, where I buy a ticket to the CDMX terminal and get on the bus. The rest of the trip I spent listening to a podcast and trying to ignore my symptoms as good as I could.

Finally back to the city at 11pm. I had spent 24 hours trying to get back home, and now I know I've caught someething becuase I feel like absolute garbage while trying to get a cab home. I finally made it home and sat down on my computer to take a look at my emails and make sure my friends that stayed on the bus hopefully are on their way home. The third bus wouldn't arrive until midnight that day, arriving at the city at 5am the next day, on wednesday.

After unsuccessfully trying to finish a pizza, I decide to give up and lay in bed with a 39ºC (103ºF) fever. Next day I take a dreadful test and wouldn't you know it, I got Covid.

During Covid:

Two whole days with really high fever later, things start to look better but not entirely. I'm constantly coughing and out of breath. I feel weak and all I can do is lay in bed and idly watch youtube on my phone. I try getting some doodles out on my tablet but it feel too shitty to commit to it haha.

Thankfully, I wore face masks during the entirety of the convention, so despite my horrendous luck catching coronavirus, none of the people I interacted with and went out of my wayt to contact trace, caught it, so that was a lucky break, nobody had a horrible post-con time because of me and that was a relief!

That next weekend I spent all in bed, ordering food because I didn't want to contaminate the kitchen with this pesky virus thing. By the next week I felt well enough to finally sit on my desk and do work, so I proceed to complete some commissions, getting back with some work messages, and complete the tablet sketches for Patreon.

After Covid:

The pile of work waiting for me was almost defeating. Had to bit the bullet though, and get as much done in as little time as possible, remotely, cause I still had to quarentaine. and little by little I have been getting better and better. There's still some lingering symptoms that haven't gone away, despite testing negative already.

I guess it's just a matter of time before it fades aways completely, but in the meantime I'll work as hard as possible to catch up to both work, commissions and patreon comics work x3

Sorry for the wall of text, but I felt like in one hand i owed you all an explanation for the inconsistencies with my schedule lately, as well as sharing my experience at Confuror. I don't know if y'all would be into me treating my patreon page like a blog thingy from time to time, but I felt like it'd be fun (and it also gives me an excuse to draw fat Mango over and over :3c)

At least the stressful part is over. Definitely good news to hear your getting over being sick.
