I got some issues with my external hard drive. It just wasn't accessable anymore and I had to defragment it which caused in a loss of 200 frames of the FMG extra clip. I'm currently re-rendering it with both PCs and it takes about 10 hours to finish it now.

I'm already on a hard drive solution  to completely terminate this kind of issue for the future. I probably will end up with some kind of "server".

I also want to mention that there's still the discord community channel. I like to give quick updates there more often and reduce the spam here on Patreon to a minimum. Just use this invite link: https://discord.gg/bGaBjJ to join. If you joined please write that you are a Patron so I can change your role which grants you access to all channels.

When you link you Patreon with Discord you can join as reward.

Hi Surody, maybe you should hire someone for this job, you have enough resources and more people will come if you improve speed-production which mean more money for more ambitious stuff. Or, you could pay someone (a campanie) to release some stuff ...

Surody

Hiring someone isn't that easy in my case. I also got a commissioned comic planned. It should get started the next few weeks.

A server would be the way to go. Look into FreeNAS with mirrored ZFS drives and a 10GB fiber link. I'll never go back after a drive failed for a movie we filmed two years ago.

Or you could split your production in 2 part. One for caption which could be fast, easy to make for you and regally posted and cheaper for us. And another one for clips (stuff like that) but for sale ! (ex: 4$ Patreon for captions prod and 10$ for one clips which could be 6$ per patreons and 10$ for non-patreons) All in order for you to train yourself... until you get enough fast to be clips video-producer full-time again ... :)

When are you posting FMG?

Surody

I'm about to render the last few frames currently. After that some editing and then upload. So I would assume the next couple hours.

Henry

Tonight?

Guess it's not going up...

Data loss is so brutal for digital creators. You buying a full server or thinking something like a NAS box? I have a refurbished Dell Server myself.

Surody

I'm currently getting some advice from my dad in terms of NAS.
