Whiskey Wednesday (Patreon)

Sometimes, things are so hectic that I just can't keep up. Honestly, I think I was much more excited about the glass than the whiskey. It's not often a girl is gifted her own personalized whiskey glass. I do like Gelston's, but in the older expressions. The 25 year old is one of my favorites, but very difficult to find. There are just too many whiskeys now coming out that I think I'm getting much pickier. Anyway here are the notes from Master of Malts if you'd like to try it yourself. Cheeers!

Gelston's 12 Port Cask Bottling Note

One of a trio of 12 year old expressions from the Gelston's range that have been finished in different types of cask - this particular expression was treated to a finishing period in Port casks. Tasty Irish single malt, with its fruit notes bolstered by the Port casks. Wonderful news all around.

Nose: White chocolate, barley, strawberries and red apples.

Palate: Soft cinnamon and ginger, followed by continued strawberry sweetness and some drying oak heat.

Finish: Orange peel and blackcurrant jam.
