MAC MFG Dump 1.61.1 UPDATE REVIEW (Patreon)

The MAC MFG Dump is now available for ATS 1.61, and this update changes the trailer in a big way. I scaled the models down by 10%, and seeing the result in game made me feel like I was looking at a different trailer. The proportions finally give it the look of a proper dump.

Along with the new scale, I reworked the cargo textures and materials, updated the wheels, revised cargo availability, and adjusted the weights, loading times, and payouts. I also added dynamic scrap loading.

New Scale, Wheels, and Weights

The MAC MFG Dump has been updated for ATS 1.61 and now uses the new wheel and rim models from Trailer Wheels v3 in place of the previous versions. I also adjusted the trailer, chassis, and cargo weights for improved realism. Together with the 10% model rescale, these changes make the trailer look and feel much closer to a proper dump setup.

Cargo Texture and Material Rework

All standalone cargo textures and materials have been reworked. Previously, some textures didn’t repeat seamlessly, giving the loads an obvious tiled appearance. The new textures repeat cleanly across the cargo, and each has its own custom normal map for more convincing surface detail under the game’s lighting.

I’ve also added dynamic scrap loading for a more realistic loading experience.

Cargo Availability and Economy

I completely revised where cargo can be picked up and delivered, so jobs should appear at locations that make more sense. Cargo loading times have also been adjusted for greater realism.

Payouts across all 11 cargoes have been rebalanced using SCS’s dumper freight rates as a reference. For the five cargoes also carried by SCS (dirt, sand, gravel, scrap metal, and wood shavings) the rates now match SCS at identical weights.

The rescale completely changed how I see this trailer, and the updated cargo textures, dynamic scrap loading, and revised job setup bring the rest of it up to the same standard.
