They're not quite how I wanted them to look but I didn't want to keep you waiting any longer. I will probably make more in the future that will hopefully look better 😅

Home Page for custom medieval(ish) 'Hearths'.

Each Hearth:

functions as an oven and a fireplace

is base game compatible

can be paired with the Medieval Cookbook which will display a cooking menu directly on the hearth

can cook Grannies Cookbook, Homestead Helper and in game recipes (not available directly through the hearth - use either the object or a fridge)

Please also download one of the required oven tuning packages:

Wood Required - if you are using 'foraged wood' from the Hunting & Foraging Mod

or

No Wood - can light without needing wood

Updated 30-08-2026:

Updated Open Fire Shelf hearths so your sims should now be able to cook herbalism tonics on the stove top again.

I can not, for the life of me, get these to work. Every time I place them, my Sim starts the food on the counter and then cannot use any of the hearths as a stove. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I am using the UsesWood Tuning.

It does happen to be off the grid and I knew I was going to be playing an OTG Sim, so I downloaded that before I even played. I will keep attempting to get it to work today.

Okay so even on a regular lot that is not OTG, I cannot get the hearths to work.

Which foods are you trying to cook? Are they cooking them on regular stoves?

Literally have been playing with these since I got the notification, works well and love them. Thank you also for the slots, my sims put food there, or I can put clutter~ Only worry/question I have, since they also function as a fireplace, will it catch on fire if left alone? There's no option to upgrade to "fireproof", which I why I ask. Thanks again for all your wonderful work!

I spoke too soon. I did t realize you also needed the oven hearth for oven recipes. Now it’s cooking everything and it’s great.

Hello. I'm having some trouble with this. When I try to open my game with this installed, my game gets stuck loading indefinitely . My game loads normally when I take it out.

Yes, they work on regular stoves and I have double checked I downloaded everything. I finally figured out that they work as ovens only, not as stoves. So now I have to figure out what stove top to use. This does make about half of the recipes not work on the hearth alone, however. Am I still doing something wrong?

SO after pulling my entire mods folder apart, I have finally discovered the culprit. It was another mod, Scumbumbo's Don't Cook Where You Angry Poop, that for some strange reason was completely preventing me from using the hearths as a stove. I've removed the mod and it is working beautifully now. Thank you for everything, my wife and I have used your mods for a few years now. We love them.

Every time I try to cook porridge or stew, my Sims display a footprint thought bubble as if they can't reach something, and the cooking never progresses. Other meals seem to work normally.

yes, it seems to be related to recipes using the stovetop part of the oven, rather than the oven shelves. you have to use an EA oven with a stovetop/hobs (or any custom non-hearth oven would work too).

i think something in the oven's custom tuning is preventing recipes from being cooked on it if they utilise the stovetop part of the oven at any stage in the cooking process. if there are only lbb custom hearth ovens on a lot when you try to cook a recipe like this (e.g. recipes than involve frying eggs in a pan), it will cause an apparent route failure. these custom hearths seem fundamentally incompatible with stovetop cooking; once the sim reaches the step of the recipe that requires usage of any of the burners on top of an oven, they will cancel the cooking interaction altogether and refuse to resume it until a non-hearth oven is placed on the lot. this seems to have been an issue for a while now, i hope it gets fixed bc i really would prefer to just use these ovens for every recipe

I don't know what's wrong. I have installed what you listed above, and I chose to use wood. All the recipes are grayed out. Don't know what I am missing. I have the cookbooks. Please help
