Updated 07-10-2026: Please delete and redownload the cookbook

Added recipe compatibility for Pigs Trotters, and Bonemeal Bread.

----

This is a medievalish cookbook and this download is just the enabler. Recipes must now be downloaded separately.

🔥 This mod now requires the Homestead Helper for cooking props 🔥 - some recipes will not work correctly without it so please download (it also has cute recipes that would fit in with medieval ish style!)

----

How to download & play:

Download the newest version & put into your mods folder

Grab any recipes you'd like from here 🍽️

In game the book/s can be found under the small appliances category (microwaves)

Place the book somewhere on your lot and click to use the pie menu (you can also click directly on the custom hearths which can be downloaded here)

If an 'off the grid' recipe is not actually working off the grid - please try downloading this small fix mod to hopefully fix that issue.

cranberrylimesims

this is the best thing that's happened to me all week

How to I cook homemade ingredients? I can purchase flour and milk but I don't see the option to make them into bread or cheese. What am I doing wrong?

littlbowbub

Bread recipes can be made through the Homestead Helper, there is also a cheese recipe there too but ingredient recipes are ongoing :)

I love this, I have used Ye old cookbook for over a year but since last month been having issues. However same issues now with this, none of the pies work, they take the stuff out of the fridge and then leave on counter and only option is to throw away. Then the homestead helper just disappears or has "add to inventory" I've removed all other mods and created a new save but still the same issues. Any ideas please as I'm bored of playing with just stews which work fine :) Thank you for the best historical food mod ever though cause it truly is amazing.

SugahSpice

Do I download both the standard and the 04 packages?

littlbowbub

Yes! One is for the cooking animation tuning and the other is the book and cooking props.

littlbowbub

Hi! You need to delete any old mods from the olde cookbook kit including hearths and the sign post. Take out all other mods and then redownload the cookbook, animation, recipes and the homestead helper. Check the recipes with EA appliances/counters. It sounds like your game is missing/cant read important packages. How many folders deep do you have? The Homestead Helper will only have 'add to inventory' if you haven't downloaded any of the homestead recipes (bread, canning & homemade ingredients)

Steffie Williams Roberts

Thank you for replying! I figured out the Homestead Helper issue... I completely missed the download additional stuff bit but have done that and my sims now enjoy freshly baked bread. However, the cookbook issue remains. I removed all mods from file, downloaded the new cookbook again, put it into the mods folder completely alone, only one file deep, and still the same issue continued despite no other mods being in the file and I created a whole new save to check it to make sure that it wasn't a bug within one of my older saves x

littlbowbub

Hi sorry for the slow reply! Did you download the updated recipes? - www.patreon.com/posts/112997470 - Which cooking animation are you using? Do you by any chance have any other mods/cc such as custom hearths from other creators that may still use the old tuning?

MercuryTheCosmicKid

unfortunately it looks like this mod no longer works as of the most recent update

Vane Sims

Hello, I would love for you to be able to update this mod as unfortunately with the latest game updates it has stopped working.

Boum

Hello!! Do you think you could do some Medieval/Renaissance dishes with honey? Like honey butter for cake and bread? Did you ever try honey butter on fresh bread? It's sooo delicious😋

hello!! it seems as though the mod as stopped working as of 8/29/25. Along with homestead helper! No pressure to fix it up quickly though :)

littlbowbub

Hi! I've updated this cookbook to fix an issue (unrelated to the game update tho) for stews and some pudding recipes. Other than that, both this cookbook and the homestead helper are working for me still after the game update. What issues are you having ? A lot of mods broke so perhaps another mod is causing a conflict for you?

f

having an issue where sims will cancel the action and act like somethings in their way when cooking pottage and gruel (unsure of other recipes as of yet), tried moving the stove and counter outside and using other stoves but neither work!

Law

Editing my original comment — I was originally having issues with some of the medieval cookbook items. I decided to test each of my mods to figure out what the issue was. It turned out to be a “faster cooking” mod by sims4me that I didn’t realize I had installed. For everyone experiencing issues, I recommend really combing through your mods! The cookbook works by itself great and now that I’ve uninstalled the conflicting mod I have no issues. 💞

Morgan Ortiz

I am also having this issue! I have updated to the most recent version of this mod and am still unable to cook things on the stove.

do you have the hunting and foraging mod downloaded as well? I had this issue a while back and it turned out to be hunting and foraging conflicting with this mod

littlbowbub

Hi, the hunting and foraging mod should not be conflicting with this mod (they are meant to work well together) unless you have downloaded older versions from the ‘olde cookbook kit)

littlbowbub

Thank you so much for providing information on the mod that was having a conflict! I will add this info to my monthly post to help spread awareness 😊

Olivia Buse

I downloaded this yesterday and keep having problems with it sadly. Every time I tell my sim to make a recipe, they get the ingredients but then get an error like something is in their way. I’ve moved things, downloaded the different stove, tried different items, and no luck. It’s also only showing the stews, broths, and soups and none of the other categories

Starshine

l'm also having an issue like above. Example, I can make pottage but not gruel....and they are in the same category. i also do not have the faster cooking mod installed that is mentioned below.

anakin (frfr)

i was having the same problem, i downloaded the fix mod from this page and it works now!! also make sure you’ve downloaded all the medieval recipe files, if you’ve only downloaded the stews file, you’ll only get the stews in game :)

Taylor Comeaux

Hi! I just downloaded this for my Ultimate Decades Challenge, and the issue as stated below in the past comments is occurring for me. So far it is only happening for the Pottage and Gruel, but it still sucks because those are the two easiest meals to make.

littlbowbub

Hi! Have you downloaded the off the grid recipe fix if you're playing off the grid? Do you also have the most up to date Homestead Helper downloaded?

Taylor Comeaux

Yes, I am. I just updated both to double check.

Taylor Comeaux

I think I may have found the issue, at least on my end. It might be the hearths specifically causing the issues.
