Is that a real prehistoric penguin, or did you make that up? There was a penguin called Kumimanu that lived in New Zealand 50 million years ago and was 5.8 feet tall and weighed 330 pounds.

It was a trade off. Pip is an uplifted penguin while that creature, due to still having flippers, was an ancient pre-uplifted beast. So sentience traded for size and power.
