I listened to a behind the scenes about Gilliam's filmography sometime back...he definitely made something very mad.

It may not be bad luck. Terry Gilliam was a funny cartoonist, but he just couldn't make a good movie. "Jabberwocky", for instance. Michael Palin was wonderfully funny, but the rest of the movie was such a sex-and-gore fest it made "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (my favorite comedy) look like a family film.
