Progress Report: 13/02 - 26 (Patreon)

Hello everyone and welcome to another progress report.EDI's comic is coming along, with panel 43 reached so far on Chapter 3. The chapter is 136 pages in total, so I've got my work cut out for me, but if I get a really good shift in on next Tuesday it's not impossible I'll be able to actually release the comic at that juncture, but it remains to be seen.Trophy Wife, Lulu's project is coming along nicely in its scene building. It's got multiple scenes and settings for some flashbacks and similar in the script, so I've been hard at work building some of them this Thursday. I've also managed to find an addon that works with 5.0 and up for Source Filmmaker to Blender model conversions, so I've managed to get a relatively decent looking Kimahri model out of SFM which I'm in the process of rigging for Blender. Suffice to say asset hunting, scene building, script writing and rigging are all time consuming endeavors, but I made good progress this Thursday and imagine the next Thursday to be the same, so we're getting places.Less happy news comes in the form of some planned Discord changes, not from me, but from Discord themselves where they are about to install some kind of age verification system. Supposedly this won't impact "the vast majority" of Discord users, but since I cannot in good faith demand that my backers undergo an ID check for a third party program just to get access to their backer benefits, I've attempted to find some workarounds:First, I'm opting to hold the character nomination periods for both the Less Popular Ladies poll as well as the vote itself (and same with the Scenario, which used to have character nominations on Discord) to instead take place in dedicated Patreon/Substar posts. The reason these used to be confined to the Discord was to keep the feeds of these platforms a little cleaner as I, frankly, find them incredibly annoying and messy to navigate myself and have heard plenty of feedback from backers saying similarly. Still, one has to roll with the punches of life, "be like water" as a wise man once said, so in order to make sure things are as fair as possible the nominations and votes both will now take place on Patreon/Substar instead.Second, those of you of the $5 and $10 tiers might have already noticed the "Chat" function on Patreon having lit up a bit with work in progress material, where going forward I endeavor to use this function as a mirror where I post the same content that goes in the work in progress channels over on the Discord. For Patreon backers this means that no content will be locked behind having a Discord account, with the downside of a much messier feed going into the future, but I am yet to find a solution for Substar where such a chat function does not exist. Alternatives there are under consideration, but we'll see what I settle on in the end.I want to reiterate as well that this does not mean that the Discord will be abandoned or the likes. Should I personally be prompted I'll make sure to undergo the necessary ID verification so I can keep maintaining it - I am just trying to arrange things so that my backers don't feel like they have to do the same.In perhaps more joyous news, Mai Shiranui took home the Scenario vote of this month with an incredibly decisive victory delivered to her by the Alley Crew. Posing begins on Saturday with the coming two weekends being used to resolve the animation, with a release estimate sometime in the final week of this month, just as always.Grand Archive password and link has also been updated in the FAQ, my apologies for the delay, was a hectic turn of the month.I believe that was it for this week, so thank you everyone, so much, for your continued support and for all of your kind words. If you've got any questions don't hesitate to reach out either in direct messages or in the comments below, and I'll answer them to the best of my ability. In the meantime, please take care of yourselves, as well as each other!/DH
