MS2 Stream Deck Plugin v.2.0 released (Patreon)

It's been too long!

I know, it has been too long since we've released anything related to Mods Studio 2.

But, that does not mean we haven't been working on the project... In fact, the development was going strong since May. Unfortunately, it's not features that you'll see right away, but work was done on our infrastructure (servers, API, websites) that will allow us to bring new features to MS2 in a very short time!

In any case, we're back, and you should start seeing regular releases going forward! 😃

Why even develop a Stream Deck plugin?

This is an easy one to answer! I made the plugin for myself, so I can enjoy the games more! 😎 Of course - sharing it with our great community was a no brainer!

What's new in v2.0?

There's a bunch of awesome dynamic buttons you can use! Also, there's two actions that are PRO only features! That means that only you guys can use them! 😎So, be sure to activate your copy of Mods Studio 2 - it automatically activates your Stream Deck plugin PRO features.

Fuel level display - Shows the amount of fuel in your tank, turns red when fuel is low.

Fuel consumption display - PRO only feature! - Shows your fuel consumption rate in mpg or L/100km - depending on the game)

Fuel range - Shows the distance you can cover with your current fuel in miles or kilometers, depending on the game.

Retarder control (+/-) - Buttons you can use to increase or decrease retarder levels. They are disabled if there are no (more) available levels.

Retarder level display- PRO only feature! - Shows if the retarder is on or not, and at what level it's on. Also, shows how many levels the truck has available.

Rest display - Shows how long the player has until the next mandatory rest. Turns red when that time is low.

Trip distance - Shows the distance to the destination. In miles or kilometers, depending on the game.

Trip estimated time of arrival - Time in minutes that's needed to reach the destination.

Speed limit display - Shows the current speed limit (if any). US and European styles available and displayed depending on the game.

Also, I fixed some old bugs - so now the buttons should update after switching of folders, profiles or pages on your Stream Deck. (However, it takes quite a long time to do so...

How to install or update your Stream Deck plugin?

First, make sure you have the latest version of your Stream Deck software installed.

If you already have our plugin installed (v 1.0) - make sure you remove it. To do so, go to your C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins folder and delete the studio.mods.streamdeck.ms2.b.sdPlugin folder. 

Download the new version on the bottom of this post.

After that, follow the regular installation instructions that we have published on www.mods.studio/stream-deck page!

When is the new Mods Studio 2 coming out?

Ah, yes. That's the big question everyone is asking! I'm glad to say It's just a matter of days. 😀 A smaller update will come out soon, with some bugfixes, and all the required updates to catch up with the SCS games (new trucks, accessories...).

Right away, we'll start working on a new version that will bring even more content. Also, new online features should be included, since we have a new API and website (that will also launch in the next couple of days). This will enable us to have online XML database, automatic updates, and more! (Finally!)
