I have long thought two things: 1. There should not be for-profit prisons. 2. America needs to make up its mind about whether prisons are here for rehabilitation or for punishment. Now, we have people who are true psychopaths and cannot be reformed. But for everyone else, we can teach them trades, we can educate them, we can provide mental health services, we can offer drug rehab + counseling. Can you imagine what good prisons could do for people who could get off drugs, who could see a future and who could receive training that they might not be able to afford in the outside world? You serve your time, you learn how to regulate your emotions and you actually have a fighting chance in a world aligned against you? This was also a learning for me in what NOT to do during PTSD. My natural inclination would have been to hug and hold - to try to tether someone to a more positive reality. And it’s clear to me now that space & breathing, calm and quiet are what’s needed. I was also VERY glad no firearms were available. That was terrifying. And now poor Arthur is back in the last place he needs to be - prison.

Zeruiah is too old to be rebelling against her parents itchy witch get a job and move out. I think Mattie nailed Brittney she is addict herself and I wouldn't be surprised if she has some brain damage from accident. Side note I always thought Sweden or demark had the right idea with theft. If you steal say 10$ you have to pay back 20$. You aren't jailed unless your where violent when committing the crime or it's over a certain amount. Keeps prisons for over population and maybe if we brought back mental house for drug users and kept prison for more danger to society offense it would help

My husband is a veteran with PTSD and this episode reminded me of when he had a psychotic break in Feb. 2023. He wouldn’t respond to questions being asked and was frozen in place, much the same way Anthony is in this situation. The doctors called it catatonia. It can happen during a mental break. It was extremely sad to watch.

Arthur made me cry too. When he said "I love you mommy" on the phone I lost it. A grown ass man saying that is so scary
