I like Alex. I think he got the ick when she said her communication style was avoidance. I think the whole time he was trying to talk himself out of having the ick with her, but I agree that the stuff with Mason he saw that as the final red flag. I still like him though.

It seems they cut the food & bev budget this season for the music. All I noticed were simple alcohol, snacks and meal prep boxes (catering / crafty) … last season all that noise in the press about “they don’t take care of the cast” they had to make up for it, and they fed them well. Full spreads in the kitchen each episode … this year we get Billie & Miley. Just a hunch 🤷🏼‍♀️

Alex knew he wasn't going to propose ever since she told him about her childhood and her communication style. Ironically he was so scared of an avoidant communication style that he turned avoidant himself. He also projected all his past relationship trauma onto her. I know people are very critical of Madison but he's just as bad. Really appreciate Poodle pointing that out and being hard on him. I've had it with these self-proclaimed good guys on LIB :D

I’m guessing Devin and/or Brittany were well aware of the fan reaction to that hot mess of a relationship. Previous instance of the abortion talk - Bartise and Nancy - I think you guys correctly predicted Bartise would use this as his reason to say “I don’t” Meg’s crazy reminds me of Shayna, who said yes to Kyle after being rejected by Shane then dumped Kyle for “religious reasons” Love your recaps. You’ve got an excellent take on human nature and relationship dynamics. And you’re hilllllarious!

It might just be deceptive editing but you don’t see much Daniel/Taylor in the previews. I think she got the ick and the Insta thing is a good way to say No. Which leaves me wholly uninterested in every couple except one and the revelation barbecue wherein Madison and Mason and Alex sniff each other out

I like Alex too I think his gut was telling him she was playing a game and he couldn’t put his finger on it so he assumed it was her attachment style because that’s something almost tangible. Her playing up how hurt she was in the situation with Mason felt manipulative And hypocritical

I was so glad when Alex told her it wasn’t going to work- that’s karma biiiitch! I think he got grossed out by how she was boxing him in with the whole ‘why aren’t you standing up for me instead of being empathetic to Mason’ That was some game playing bullshit & he he isn’t capable of weaving a web like her black widow ass- & he dodged a bullet. She’d have eaten him alive. Maybe I just don’t like her- I loved her at first but she’s revealed herself to be a shitty person

This whole conversation with Alex and Madison was a test. He wasn’t going to break up or propose. It was a test date after everything went down with Mason. I’m sorry, but I don’t blame him. Most of the bad things about Madison are things you’d recognize in the real world, by watching her interactions with third parties. Alex doesn’t have that luxury. So he has to go a bit hard at her in the pods to get some answers. It’s her fault because she gives him NOTHING deep. He has good instinct about her, but he wants to be sure. That’s the name of this game and I respect him so much for that. The shallower men would just fall for her games and seductions, propose and then let it implode after they had sex with her. Also, I think all this happened kinda early, based on which bbq friends are still in the quarters.

Yeah and I’m not really sure what the implication is here. I think it’s very unlikely he would be aware he’s talking to a girl he (may or may not have followed) on Instagram. Lots of women are named Taylor and I think it would imply high levels of obsession if he meets a girl named Taylor who likes Taco Bell and Christmas and assumes it’s the woman he followed on Instagram. It seems unlikely. I don’t know. Maybe I’ll eat my words.
