Maybe it’s just because I’m not used to being around many ultra-Christian people (and the ones I have met have spent every minute telling me why I’m a terrible person) but something about Ben just feels off to me. Especially in the next episode when they go to church and the preacher is talking about turning others to god if they’ve strayed from the path, which makes me question his claims that his congregation is “very accepting”

“Certified organic” is one of the food labels that actually IS regulated, in this case by the USDA. There are lot of other feel-good labels that are not, like “locally-grown”, “natural”, or “grass-fed”. I totally agree about the larger point that a lot goes into the personal choices we make about the food we consume, and it’s smart to understand what these labels actually mean and not just blindly trust them or use them to feel superior to others. The “clean eating” thing annoys me as well.

By episode 11 it genuinely felt like he was torturing her. I hope his cheer squad have a change of heart when they see the way he actually treated her vs. what he told them, but I doubt it. No ons this stupid gets this bad without a web of enablers.

At this point, I don’t even think that Dave’s sister has said anything that serious. I’m sure that she has expressed dissatisfaction with the process/show itself (which is fair), but Dave is just making up excuses at this point because he’s just not that into her. He never was and the whole “you fucked someone before you came on the show” bit was the lever he needed to break things off with Lauren and not be the bad guy - or so he thought.
