I want to push back a little on the Brandon and Julia thing. I agree Julia shouldn’t have given an ultimatum, but you’re underestimating how big a deal it is for her to get a second opinion on having a baby. I’ve never wanted kids, so the infertility that comes with endo and PCOS never bothered me, but for a woman to face the reality of not having children is an actual existential crisis. ESPECIALLY for someone from a culture where a woman’s worth is intrinsically dependent on her ability to giive birth. Julia went through an entire grieving process heavily laced with overwhelming shame. Brandon asking her to possibly go through that all over again is a HUGE ask. Just think of Chidi dying a little inside when Raynay got his hopes up about having his sight restored, then throw in a shame spiral.

I never thought that by the end of the season I would be rooting for Natalie and wishing for her to dump a drink on Sophie again. I can’t stand Sophie and it didn’t hit me until this episode. Her and Rob worked because they are both assholes that seek validation in putting others down. They’re awful.

I truly think that Brandon assumes “second opinion about fertility” = “I’m for sure having a baby”. He acts like he’s getting a baby out of this deal for sure…. Which in my opinion is asking A LOT out of Julia and is not comparable at all to her parents coming (imo the baby is a way bigger deal than the parents)

My personal belief is that Brandon thinks he’s getting a baby out of this deal and Julia isn’t actually willing to do that and the “second opinion” thing is just kicking the can down the road… but I could definitely be wrong. Julia just really seemed disinterested in the idea of a baby initially

I think the two possible explanations there are either she had convinced herself she didn’t want kids as a coping mechanism, or she really just does not want a family with Brandon and this was her way out. Of course neither mean she hasn’t had to grieve, and it could even be all of the above. Where I was raised, it wasn’t super religious, but a woman’s worth is entirely dependent on how many kids she has. So even though I’ve never wanted kids, I’ve still had to reckon with that expectation, even before I knew about the infertility. I still have to deal with it. Despite being the first in the family to get a degree, I’m still considered the family failure for not having kids.

Out of the 2 of them, I think Gino is way worse than Jasmine. He continually gaslights her and is just a bad person. She's no saint, but I'm glad she found someone who actually wants to be with her.
