I went to a winter wedding in Fort Collins one year, right after NYE (why?? Worst time to travel!) and the bride and groom really wanted the ceremony outside, on a conference center balcony overlooking a street. Not even a mountain view! The weather was relatively mild for time of year and majority of guests were from Colorado but still! I’m talking 40s max! I had a cold and was dreading it. Thankfully the weather changed and there was way too much snow for them to do it outside but it was a close call. Also! They had NO table or seating assignments, which was a HUGE fail! My husband was a groomsman and he was one of only three people I knew, the other two being the bride and groom, and they all sat at one of those long tables facing the room. So I wound up next to some super Christian distant family members and tried to make it through the meal and all the toasts. Later, one of them said “oh you should’ve sat with this group of friends!” The friends I’ve never met? When all the seats are being grabbed in the buffet chaos? This is why you do assigned tables unless it’s a teeny tiny wedding!! Ok, I have some feelings about this maybe.
