A Note From the Gays:
Y’all, both of us were racking our brains trying to think of things to say to give you a good GD this week, but everything we came up with a little tone deaf after the events of yesterday. It felt a little difficult to talk about fashion at the Emmys when freedom of speech seems like it’s more jeopardized than ever. So, we recorded an intro consisting of a few minutes of us chatting about how we’re feeling, just to let you know where we are, and maybe to give you a little hope as well as some ideas of how you can feel less overwhelmed and powerless. More importantly, we’ve given you peak disassociation material: we’re releasing our first “road trip“ podcast (only previously available on RG+) that we recorded on the way to see David Archuleta in San Bernardino a few years ago. This is truly unhinged content, and it will either bring you great joy, or extreme anxiety. We will be back with another Gaily Dose next week, but for now, tune in, turn on, and keep going, Queens!

On a hopeful note…..I live in MAGA country. It is sometimes hard to give my kids perspective. But when Kimmel got suspended my teenagers came to me in shock. They compared it to book burning in Nazi Germany. I was so proud of them for being upset and we were able to have some really good talks. Even their friends that are raised in very conservative families are angry. Free speech and comedy are things Gen Z highly values as the tick tock generation. The teenagers of today will be the young voters in the next election. That gives me some hope.
