Home schooled here ! Yes depending on what system you use you have to get your GED. The system I went through my credits only counted if I went to their "college". It was the type of school where boys & girls were not allowed to use the same elevator. So guess who had to get their GED? Me. When I interview for jobs I get shamed for it. I still yell at my mother for making me do it.

I read elsewhere that the kids didn't even have social security numbers until they started the show. Not sure just how true that is, but if it is, THAT is sheltered AF.

You have no idea how happy I am that you are doing this show! I’ve been following The Duggar’s for year (I don’t support their beliefs, but I’m very much into cults and been studying the quiverful movement for a hot minute) When Plathville came out last year it was a breath of fresh air only because it felt real to me. The Duggars are faker than Kraft cheese!

I have listened to you all for about a year now and finally joined the gaytreon for all things plathville! Love your show! I laugh out loud on my drive to and from work listening to yalls craziness, who cares if your announcements last 15-20 minutes, your anecdotal stories are always worth it.

Ok commenting again, The reason why I think the Plath‘s are doing the show is because they believe that they are part of a ministry. They are part of a musical traveling group that goes to church to church. Like the Duggars they are trying to show why their way of life is right way vs the rest of the world. I believe they are doing this to promote themselves. I also fear that the money they receive from the show they (Kim and Barry)will use it as a way to get their kids to do whatever they want. Recently Jill Duggar came out and said that she got no money for doing the show and had to get a lawyer to even get a cent out of the time for doing the show. Sorry for comparing the Duggars with the Plaths, I know they have similar circles as far as friends. Plus they both have shows on TLC.

I’m honestly afraid for the kids that branched out. I’m not religious or a prude but there is A LOT of things out in the world that aren’t great and these kids are prime targets. Their parents failed them and unlike their older brother, they don’t have someone to guide them through the real world. No one taught them boundaries, consent, etc. I just hope they don’t meet the wrong type of ppl that will abuse them ❤️
