I did the HAAA exercise and scared the shit outta my cat 😺 🤣🤣🤣 Also I feel the same about Moriah. She reminds me ALOT of myself at her age. I moved out at 17 too and didn't know shit about how to be an adult. But God she has it so much harder. I wasn't as sheltered as she was. I feel for her!!!

Why is so much hate directed at the parents? Sure they were overly restrictive in earlier years. But all those kids are able to break out and go their own directions. They're healthy, have wonderful personalities, and strong prospects for the future. I wish the parents got some credit for putting in the effort to raise such great kids. There are many worse examples.

I love hearing your recap of this show. My boyfriend was raised very similarly to the Platt's and he knows a lot people who are like the Platts. I have found that a huge difference is that his parents valued education and reading, so the majority of his siblings (himself included) do not have the same values as his parents, but there are parents who didn't value education/reading for their children and they follow their parents beliefs. I feel like it gives me an insight of what it was like for him to distance himself from his parents.

y'all, mama plath, who apparently was suicidal over the tragic accident that killed her 18 month old, wracked with guilt and remorse, experiences neither feeling when it comes to micah, ethan and moriah . when micah and moriah talked about parts of their education which were sorely lacking, mama plath blames them for their disinterest, when instead she could be saying, "i wish i had known a better way to engage you and spark your interest." that was her job. she did not create an environment that fulfilled any burgeoning interest in the outside world, which made the world all the mire tantalizing for them. so sad

The Last 5 Years is one of the better musical adaptations imo. Jeremy Jordan/Anna Kendrick brought a youthful energy to Jamie/Cathy which was sorely needed. I love the actual musical but the actors picked for Jamie/Cathy sounded way too old.

Are we watching the same show?? They provided no formal education for them. Did nothing to address trauma and they opened themselves up to scrutiny by putting themselves on a TV show when they won't even let their kids watch TV? I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

There is a lot about that woman to unpack. Not that I am judging her for this but I also found it odd when Ethan said that the kids got hurt a lot on the farm. After such a traumatic accident with the 17 month old you would think they'd want to shelter the kids even more and wouldn't let them run around and tinker with farm shit. Grief is really something else.

Love the comments about women’s voices. We were forced to be more outgoing/ louder and were always encouraged to have more presence/ confidence when speaking and I’m so grateful for it even tho my voice sounds like Fran Drescher.
