New Sissy here...how do I donate to Fund Texas Choice to ensure my donation is credited to the month long fundraising goal for Sissies? Keep goin Queens!

Super Nova

Please do Prisoner of Lover next month...it's full of the mess we love.

Missy Fuller

I’m crying over “cheap theater” I’m dead! I’ve been waiting for this, thank you!!!!

Peggy Ann

The $750 wedding budget was also so this lady could be back on a reality show and be famous. That poor daughter

Caroline Dickie

I’m watching the first episode of this show and I hope my father-in-law never finds out about it because these people would give him ideas! My MIL told me that one time she had to yell at him because he pulled his car over to pick up a spatula he saw on the side of the road.

Lauren Fiori

I wash and reuse ziplocs 😵‍💫

Honora Greenwood Rodriguez

That time my AirPods didn't connect properly and I pressed play just as Mattie said "butt cheesy." I'm a librarian.

Grace

I nominate My Big Fat Fabulous Life for a future bi curious!

Marisa Meno

My mom also reuses paper towels that she stores in their broken dishwasher 🙃 but my mom grew up poor so I think it’s definitely a generational poverty thing. She always spoiled me and her grandchildren though which was probably due to her parents rarely buying things for her and her siblings.

Lynn

Please at least do the last episode so you can recap the wedding!!!

Betsy

I got married once, (Do NOT recommend, ZERO stars) But... I DO recommend having Safeway do your flowers! I had the florist do my flowers and got loads of compliments. I also bought my wedding dress off of the mannequin that had been used as a display and got it for 120.00. Again, everyone loved it and I sold it for more than I paid for it.

Evelyn Torres

My mother in law, currently living with us, washes and re uses ziploc bags. I try to be good about reducing single use plastic waste so it just makes me feel guilty and wasteful

This show really triggered me. I like to save money... But some of these "money saving ideas" on this show are gross and just plain dumb. Like you want a cheap wedding venue? Have it at your house! Want a cheap wedding dress? Just buy a pretty white evening dress for like 100$ !

Marisa Meno

Those were my thoughts exactly lol. Like you can have a cheap wedding and still make it decent by having it at someone’s house and just buying a formal dress instead of a wedding dress. Then just have people bring food if you don’t want catering! That mom was going out of her way to make the wedding awful.

Sera

My mama is so cheap she’ll dye her hair the wrong color if any shade of Clairol goes on clearance. Imagine black hair with auburn roots

Jolene

Me too Mattie! I'm a pay for convenience kinda person. I just have NO DESIRE to go through all of that.

Jolene

I'm back... In the wedding industry here... This kind of customer is my nightmare. Its ok if you want a cheap wedding. But then you can't expect any vendors to come down to your "budget" or lack of. The amount of time just talking to them is already worth more than what they're willing to spend. I've had to adjust my inquiry process to wean out these potential customers.

mess_this_blessica

Don’t knock rice water for hair care! Seriously it’s interesting look it up. I had forgotten I wanted to try that.

I’m only like 10 mins into this show and have LOST my goddamn mind. The skillet ironing pants and tennis racket for a strainer TOOK ME OUT. 🤣🤣🤣

My great uncle ran a dump in MI in the 1950s so he made money from people paying to dump stuff and then people paying to pick over the dumped stuff. My father has fond memories because as kin he didn't have to pay to pick. Rust belt stories are only slightly less sad then southern stories; y'all watched Danielle.

My beloved deceased grandmother was a saint. But the woman reused her tea bags. Multiple times. She also froze bread, milk, chocolates, and broth

Alina

Comin at you with some cheap things I do…I also had parents who grew up disadvantaged, my mom holds onto the habits, but my dad is so turned off by them. Takeout/food packaging containers: i will reuse these for a few things. I make my own vegetable/chicken broth and soups. The large and small soup containers and yogurt containers are perfect for freezing these. (I typically toss them after though). I also pack my office lunch in the flat tupperware ones with lids bc if it gets gross and I need to throw the whole thing out, Im not fussing with washing and bringing something back home., Paper towels: my mom ingrained in me that paper towels were expensive, so I try to use rags and dishtowels wherever possible. I will also use reuse a paper towel if I used it for a water spot or to dry my hands. Gets tossed right after though. Ziploc bags: i do reuse the ones for dry goods if they arent soiled/dirty. Anything used for meat or vegetables gets tossed though.

Alina

Guilty of the freezing bread and soup. That how they both keep 😂

Suzette Tamblyn

Honestly I think that makes you smart and frugal, not cheap. Cheap is having money but dumpster diving, for example

Tracy Papachristodoulou

3 holes Poodle…think of it like this: pee, fun stuff and babies, poop…in that order 🤣🤣🤣

Alexandrea Sparks

The way Jake said “trifling” was hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂

AgentWGD

My moms step mom scraped mold off of bread that she used. My mom also got a bunch of awful handmedown pad holders and bras that never fit and she never let my mother do things like girl scouts because her stepmother said "I already did all that with /my/ kids"

marily zamora

My dad would take my brothers and I to Taco Bell, but he would walk in with a liter soda he bought for like $.99, so he wouldn’t have to buys us expensive soda, but he would make us go ask for cups for free!!! Humiliating 😬😂😂😂😭😭😭😅😅😅

Ms-Metal

ARrgggghhh LOL Peter Gabriel absolutely WAS in Genesis & his solo career was AFTER that 🎶

Ms-Metal

Oh & I reuse tea bags but only once ot twice if it's strong tea. I wash & reuse ziplocs & even my housekeeper thinks I'm nuts for that, but my motivation is recycling based, not frugality. I also keep sticky pieces of tape from pkgs or stickers from pkgs to easily clean long hair in my sink. 1 piece of sticky tape & it all comes up at once. And yes, the housekeeper laughs at my collection of sticky pieces.

My Grandpa would: - Peel off and re-use stamps that the post office didn’t stamp correctly on a piece of mail he’d received. - “Fix” moldy bread by toasting it. - Only flush if it was a #2. There are so many more. He was raised on a farm as was his daughter, my mom who has a lot of the same tendencies. This isn’t as cheap as it is petty but sounds like something Poodle would do - if my dad caught any of my siblings or myself leaving a fan running, a light on, etc. In our room, bathroom, or whatever, in an empty room….. my dad would turn off the electricity on our side of the house for the rest of the day. This included the A/C as punishment for wasting electricity. 😂😂😂

Self waxer!! Started in covid, won’t go back to paying for it but I use an actual wax pot and buy a pound of beads for $20 on Amazon. Do it myself with no help, it’s faster, cheaper and better than the results from the salon! I do it for my friends occasionally if they ask but no, you don’t need someone else to do it for you

Tara Quillen

I grew up with that yellow Tupperware colander!!! My mom may actually still have it, since she’s a hoarder…🤔

rasmus0714

Before this show, I thought some lady stacking tons of coupons to make 200+ dollars into less than 20 dollars on some random reality show is frugality...
