Hey Gaytrons! So y’all know how when Mattie and I do something for the first time (i.e. Crowdcast, YouTube live), there’s always a few “hiccups” along the way? Well, why would that be ANY different for our FIRST live show this Sunday in LA?!! 😂

Don’t worry—the show is still ON! Actually, the planning side has actually been going REALLY well, and we’ve been working very hard to give you guys a live version of our show that you will love, and throw in some surprises as well. Here’s the thing: (and we’re gonna keep in real with you guys, because you should know the whole story) We found out Thursday morning that the venue doesn’t have a liquor license. You heard that right: a venue that hosts comedy events DOESN’T have a fucking LIQUOR LICENSE. And no, like we thought, it’s not just that they don’t have hard liquor and sell beer and wine—it’s a DRY HOUSE. (It was actually a sissy who found out that they didn’t serve alcohol—they didn’t tell us. We had to ASK!) We were livid (BLIVID), as you might imagine, as we’d booked this venue months ago with the idea that renting it for the whole night gave people time to have a few drinks, and our booking agent had written them multiple times with language like “VIP Meet and Greet with cocktails” and “intermission for merch and cocktails.” Thankfully, we were able to get part of our rental deposit back, after our booking agent read them for FILTH!

However, you DON’T have to remain sober as a judge throughout the show—we have a solution! We’ve hired a party bus that will sit outside the venue, and will act as the “bus bar.” You can BRING your own alcohol and keep it on the party bus. However, you will need to DRINK it on the bus as well. NOTE: there will be NO alcohol available for purchase on the bus—it’s completely BYOB. Please don’t bring alcohol into the theater (the venue was explicit about that) or drink outside on the street—it’s not New Orleans, you bunch of Jovi’s! The party bus will be open at from 7pm - 8pm, then during intermission, and then during the VIP Meet and Greet (after 10 or so till 11:30). As far as where to buy booze around the theater, there are tons of little liquor stores in the area—a quick google or yelp search will give you tons in walking distance—or you can buy alcohol closer to where you are staying.

All this being said, we’re SOOOO fucking excited to meet y’all perform like gay show ponies on Sunday. Don’t forget your vax card and your mask. And don’t worry, both the Chicago and New York venues sell alcohol. And YES, we will be asking about booze from NOW ON!— Poods

TL:DR—The theater screwed us and didn’t have a liquor license, but we’ve hired a party bus that will sit outside the venue to be the “bus bar.” You have to drink ON the bus and not bring it into the theater. Also, please don’t drink on the street. Yay!

The party bus idea is amazing. Fuck I wish I was coming! Alas, I live in Australia. But I look forward to hearing the show afterwards. Have an amazing night!!!
