Poodle is right, German chocolate cake is American- it's from Dorchester Mass at the equally confusingly named "Baker's" chocolate factory in the 1800s, and the worker who came up for the recipe's last name was German. So it's really a "Baker's German's" chocolate cake 🤯

I feel like Poodle would appreciate this: Mike and his family adding an R to Ximena's name is called "intrusive r" and it happens because people who have accents where you drop the R at the end of words tend to add the R back when the next word starts with a vowel ("pahk the cah" vs "pahk the cah-R-ovah heah"). So when a word actually ends with an "-ah" sound, they will sometimes also add an R to the end when it comes before a word with a vowel. So Mike et al would say "I'm a little worried about Mike dating Ximena because Ximena-r-obviously isn't into him at all." Thank you for your comments on the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and what is happening in State legislatures regarding LGBTQ+, Sex Education, and CRT. Unfortunately, local school boards are also weighing in and making these decisions as well. I’m teaching in a school district with anti-CRT, and anti-sex ex board members and what they are doing in the name of parental rights and transparency is scary. I wish people would understand that public schools are in place to serve the entire community and create an educated populace, not to serve the needs of a vocal minority who put their own religious beliefs and racism above all else.
