Ugh, my heart goes out for Tyler. I think this all goes deeper than the show or ego, more Tyler’s trauma from being rejected by what should be the most trusted of adult, his mother. I think having a difficult time trusting anyone on your side after that is a common pattern, waiting for the other shoe in the form of betrayal to drop. When it doesn’t, you self sabotage over the smallest of conflict, so you are never the one surprised, hurt or feeling abandoned again. Self fulfilling prophecy. Jody is the mother figure he can’t handle rejection from now, so he rejects first. I feel for everyone.
