Mattie! You’re so correct on your Department Store hierarchy! I was the executive assistant for a department store in Beverly Hills and I would hear all the drama! Cosmetics was messy and the women and queens were always talking shit to each other and come crying to my office. The men that work in Ladies Shoes are sluts and I lived for the drama. My department store story. I took a job after I retired from teaching, at Belk. Nobody ever wants to work in the home dept, because you get all the asshole customers. They think that it’s the only place to do returns, or pay your bill. The childrens dept, is so boring, and usually is covered by new employees. Men’s dept is also boring, but gets less messy than any other dept. I work in ladies, and we are good buddies with the cosmetic girls, which are near our dept. Mattie is right about free samples and also letting us have first choice when things go on clearance. We also cover for each other for restroom breaks. I love those girls. A big gossip subject is about new employees, and how long they’ll last. Lol
