Poodle, your thanksgiving dinner sounds amazing. I did Samin Nosrat’s buttermilk chicken one year for a small pandemic TG and it was so good! This year there are just two of us and a toddler so I’m trying Melissa Clark’s sheetpan TG dinner from her new one pot cookbook. It has cumin seeds and za’atar so it’ll definitely be different!

Mattie was not exaggerating about the glory of homemade rolls, omg. Melt in your mouth. And I can really relate with smells like Mother Poodle. I can smell the ghost of the thrown away onion. I insist the vent fan is on when people are cooking on the stovetop....

I’m in the process of immigrating to BC, Canada. It’s easier than moving to the US, but unless she’s just staying there on a visitor visa, there is a process to go through. If she wants to get Canadian health coverage, she has to be here on more than a visitor visa. So maybe when she first moved, she was on a visitor visa and then later applied for a more permanent visa? Or this was all in the works a lot earlier than they show?

Debbie can stay in Canada for up to 6 months under a visitor's permit/visa, which she does not need to apply for. They could literally get married in that time and apply for permanent residency, and she would t have to leave lol. If she does leave she'd have to return to America for a few months and then could come back and stay for a while, the visitors permit resets. Her cats could easily come here, I'm not sure if there's even a quarantine period. If they're all vaccinated etc, wouldn't be too hard POV from someone who's husband immigrated to Canada, albeit from England - not America. Re: Natalie ... I have BPD and dependent personality disorder and I feel like her 180 swing back to Mike is more focused on dependent personality. Mike is a relatively safe space and he gave her an inch by saying they'll always have love for each other - she'll take a mile. Interesting episode!
