Jakarta resident here, I know a lot of people like Leida. It’s not the kid (not only), that makes it hard for her to remarry, it’s virginity culture. It’s the same no matter what religion you belong to. It’s also the stigma of a so called “failed”marriage (which is almost always blamed on the wife regardless of what happened). Among my divorced friends, the only ones that have remarried are so called second wives, in religious ceremony Muslim marriages ( unknown to the first wives who have to consent in order for those marriages to be legal). Leida’s options would be limited by both class and religion as her family would probably not accept her marrying “down”. Marrying a foreigner (read westerner) and moving to the US would allow Leida freedom and a fresh start away from a tight-knit controlling society. Her saying that she is “spoiled” and living with her parents after the divorce (at 29 ) tells me the family has a lot of control over her, probably financially fully supporting her and her son. On her being rich, yes she has a wealthy family but it’s also very typical of upper class Jakartan’s to live like that. Even middle class people will have household staff, drivers and garderners. Child support and custody after divorce falls under religious law and depends on the parents’ religion but it’s largely left to the individual and not enforced.

I have always said Leida is the most evil in 90 Day history, but small pred may be worse ... not much though. Unfortunately, you guys won't see all of the horrible things Leida did online after the show aired, but I have a feeling Sissy Mary (not me lol) will dig up some of it. Season 6 just might be the best season. I tried to find it on youtube last night so I could rewatch it with you, but it's not on there.

I have zero interest in Family Chantel. It's basically a Jerry Springer show every episode, just like they were on 90 Day. It's boring to watch the same thing over and over again. I would LOVE to hear you recap the seasons of LALU that you haven't seen though! You would be OBSESSED with those first few seasons.

Poodle you're absolutely correct about Walleye. Im always excited when i go to a fish fry with it. Idk, if you have Cullvers out in Cali, but their fish sandwich is the best fast food fish sandwich. Its walleye on Fridays and cheese curds everyday.

Normally I agree, but two things. (1) while it’s an important topic to discuss, I don’t think it’s their responsibility to disclaim everything on what is meant to be a comedy pod. They do a great job of this already, but I take that as a cherry on top, not a requirement. (2) How do we know he was the victim of the two? I say this because I just read a story about a 12 year old boy in South Korea who r*ped a 9 year old girl. One might argue he is a victim of a sick society, but minor or not that kid is a predator. Beyond that he KNEW he was wrong because he orchestrated it and attempted to hide it. He went on to graduate middle school even with his school knowing. That being said I understand that discussions about age and sexuality promote the idea that it’s black and white, but unfortunately it’s not. I’m not saying Jay is like that kid, I’m just presenting the reality that deviance can occur at any age and being a victim of society is not necessarily the same as a victim of a crime.

As a Minnesotan I am here for all the midwest accents and Wisconsin shade. I remember this season super vaguely but have never watched the whole thing until now, so this pod is gonna carry me through the rest of this dumb cold winter. It sucks for those of us who grew up in it, can't wait to see how Leida reacts 😅

It’s definitely cheese! One of the last times I went, I drove from Chicago and had to stop at a giant cheese shop castle just over the Wisconsin border. I bought many, many cheese curds.

Wisconsin sissy checking in! Baraboo is not my favorite (very trumpy and fairly crusty) but Devil's lake state park is indeed very beautiful. Baraboo is close to Wisconsin Dells, which is a "big" Midwestern tourist destination that has a lot of water/amusement parks. Baraboo is like the bitter step sister of the Wisconsin Dells. I think Eric is a spectacular asshole for not being honest/upfront about his lifestyle to Leida. Moving from a mansion with servants in a tropical climate to a dirty apartment in a small rural town in a very harsh climate: YIKES.
