Hi, environmental scientist here! You guys are right, LA should not exist. The la River in its original state did not have capacity to support a city and would always flood then dry out (hence why its concrete lined now). LA came to be because in the early 1900’s Mulholland bought up property in Owens Valley and created the LA Aqueduct to transport water from Owens Lake and Mono Lake to LA. LA completely drained Owens Lake and now spends a large amount of money to control lakebed dust out there! So you guys were originally right, LA should not exist.

I'm only posting a spoiler because you brought it up. lol. Leida kicked Eric's daughter out of the apartment and Eric went along with it. It will be on the show. It was his daughter's apartment and she let Eric move in because he was so broke. Leida and Eric are HORRIBLE people.

Little fact: If we are talking about colonization, Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch. In Dutch, the "I" sounds like English "E", the "E" is kind of like Eh. However, depending on how the vowels are placed, then they have slightly different pronunciations. However, Google says Leida has a Greek/Slavic origin.

Spain did colonize Indonesia in the 1500s. They’ve been colonized by 6 countries, the Dutch simply being the longest and most influential. Indonesian names are incredibly diverse given the nation has over 15,000 islands and thousands of ethnic groups, on top of the colonization.

Hmmm I’m not sure about that, I’m not Indonesian but google says Dutch and English. I’m Filipino and Jake’s comment just made me think he was thinking of the Philippines, a big part of Spanish colonial rule was forcing us to adopt their names/last names. That’s all :)

I am not Brazilian, but I speak a little Portuguese and spent time in Brazil. English words end in consonants regularly. Portuguese words mostly end on vowels. When they do end in consonants the consonants are softened by the pronunciation. For instance a word ending in M might sound more like it ends in W the way they pronounce it. My Brazilian friend Fred pronounces his name with a soft G instead of a D (Frej) So the reason for putting the “e” sound is simply they aren’t good at pronouncing English words yet. They aren’t used to the words ending in hard sounds. So I think Jess just spoke with a better American accent than Larissa.

Yes it seems weird she would quit her job espc since he cannot travel for 1 yr. And do shows etc...my question is why are they still in PA? Did he commit crimes there is that why they have to stay? I'm confused.... Doesn't sound like Rhode Island is on the table
