i'm from brooklyn. there was no prom. no catered sit down dinner and no entertainment:)

Rebecca Goodge

We had our prom at a wedding venue 30 min away from our town (in another state!) There was a catered dinner but no entertainment

Lala B

Catered dinner at my Staten Island prom

Jamie Katherine

I went to a Christian school (Florida)- our dresses had to be approved and we could never have worn something like Anniko wore. It was more a banquet. Catered dinner and picture slideshow. No dancing 😂

Linda

No dinner at prom is wild! We had it at both Junior and Senior prom. It was at a nice banquet hall and we had a sit down dinner, apps before. I’ve never heard of a prom with no food! Metro Detroit sissy here for regional reference point.

Jennifer Moseley

I grew up in Houma. There was no dinner or entertainment at prom. However, our prom was held at the gym/cafeteria/church. That food smell is hard to get rid of!

Sheila Leigh

Had our prom at a banquet hall as well, with a sit down dinner. Food & music was great but my date sucked! 👎🏻

Virgheaux

Catered dinner at my catholic high school (Philly)

Brenna Parhad

No prom dinner for me (suburban Chicago). I didn’t even know that was a thing!

Dara

I grew up in Abilene, TX. We didn’t have a catered prom. We all went to a ‘fancy dinner’ at the Olive Garden before prom.

Kylie Erinn

For most dances we went out to eat before but our prom was catered.

Katherine Rea

Women’s lib I’m dying 😅 love you guys

Sandy

Yes to prom dinner and I'm in Canada.

Lauren Anderson

My aunts name isn’t Anita but…Danita 😆

Lauren Anderson

Oh and no catered prom dinners in colorado. We just went out to a fancy dinner aka pf changs haha

Lori McElroy

East Texas girl here, We had it in our high school cafeteria, no dinner and DJ only. We all went to dinner before hand.

Marge Dearing

I went to a Christian school in Lynchburg, Virginia and we didn’t have a prom we had a junior/senior banquet. We had a catered dinner and a magic show. It was horrible. Dancing was not allowed so we had parties at houses after the banquet and danced on the down low;) I was robbed of a real prom!🙄

Lauren Anderson

Ok also y’all, I was literally rocking a baby when poodle said “the baby you’re rocking is 🍆 🐷 “ I DIED

Carey Addis

I grew up in an strict Church that only allowed dating within the church, but it was an International church so there was one in every major city. Being really pretty in high school meant you got asked to proms all over the country. I have been to a dozen proms from Boston to Cincinnati to Louisville to DC to Indianapolis to Atlanta, etc. We never once had dinner at prom.

Becky Stapleton

My prom had a sit down dinner in Missouri.

BellaMuerte

I NEED to see Mattie and Poodle prom photos!!!!

Anita Carol

Oh my God, I’m literally screaming in my car. It’s me, I’m Anita! And it’s not Anita Dick, although…🍆🍆🍆😏. It’s Anita Orange! My Instagram name is aneet66. I had to pull over because I’m fanning out so hard to hear you guys say my name!

Carey Addis

You guys missed a big reveal: that “friend” they went to prom with was actually the son of their father’s girlfriend. I think they said their dad suggested he take them to prom. Then they talked about how he could’ve been their stepbrother.

Jamie Katherine

Poodle doing the “When the money runs out he’s gone” Deb quote — I scream laughed and then I started crying because of how grateful I am for the laughs you guys provide. I work as a trauma therapist and had a heavy start to the week. This recap helped set me straight. I needed the laugh and I needed the cry. You guys are doing important work recapping these trash shows and I hope you never forget it.

Laura Kunz

We had a sit down dinner at prom in Chicago. We had junior and senior proms at different hotels around the city, but they all had dinner

Robin H

I thought you would talk more about how you were attracted to Daddy Silva when he got emotional.

Rachel Haught

Suburb of Cleveland, we had dinner at prom.

Lois Molina

The only thing about prom, 1994, that I remember was that I hated by hair and my dress. We did sit down but I have no idea for what. I went to an All Girls Catholic HS in the Bronx, NY and we were forced to bring a date. We could not go alone. 🙄 I also bawled when Daddy Silva spoke about Michael. Grief is forever. I lost my mom in 2016 and I haven’t been the same. Those big losses and their absence forever change you.

Georgina Toledo

i live in new york and my prom (i didn't go) was at a really nice wedding hall about 40 minutes away. there was a DJ, photo booth and a formal dinner, literally like a wedding.

Jolene

My prom was in a 3 story venue in SF. I believe it was round and you could look down at the dance floor from each floor. Like each floor was like a terrace. We had a sit down dinner, as well.

Alicia De Toro

We didn’t have dinner at Prom, which was held at the school cafeteria. We did have dinner at Senior Ball, which was held off campus at the decathlon club. We definitely snuck in flasks and spiked our drinks.🤣

Super Nova

Poodle must be sick, can't believe you didn't mention the table fries during Darcy and the girls' meetup🤣

Val McCue

Mattie’s Pterodactyl Darcey gets me every time, love it! 🤣

LadyPeif

We had served dinner. Dj. Dance floor. It’s basically a wedding

Jess Durkee

my wedding dress is a crop top. My original wedding was supposed to be at the beach but that's not happening soooooo I'm going to be over dressed for town hall. 😂😂😂 I don't think they would appreciate me wearing it at a church.

Rebecca Goodge

I mean to be fair we lived in the middle of nowhere so 30 min was a normal distance for us 😂

Alyssa Holland

My prom was at a club that used to be owned by the mob, they served a sit-down dinner to some strange elevator music played by a DJ. I live in Kentucky. 🤷🏼‍♀️

tara s

For fancy people bedecked in designer gear the Silvas don't live a glamorous life at all. Paper plates. Grocery store cake. Plastic cups. So odd...

Erica Garcia

Tis I! Yes that’s exactly what Poodle’s Florian does he’s always doing a soft moaning before he talks and it lands every time. I went to my date’s school Prom and it was at the community college cafeteria no dinner, it’s just snacks and dancing. You go out to a fancy place, take a limo or drive your own car and take pictures at the event in that pose where they’re behind you. Then you go out later and drink Strawberry Hill and attempt light petting.

I don’t know why but this made me think of “Buhkenzie” and gave me all the joy.

Katrina Coley

Ours was also a catered dinner. We actually rode a school bus for 1 in a half hours to get to the location which was an old theater. And you could not go unless you rode the school buses. That was horrible!!!

Lauren Barnett

I went to two proms at two schools (Chicago suburbs) and both were at a suburban banquet hall. I think we ate dinner there. I recall sitting at tables… Prom sucked.

Elizabeth

Catered dinner at a tennis club! I just found my little booklet that has the menu circa 1998.

kimberley

My high school didn't have prom (Baptist high school in tennessee). We had a sports banquet and then a Jr Sr banquet. The one time I went it was a sit down dinner. I never went again. Then I left that school. But no dancing at all! There was a scandal The class ahead of me had an after party at one of the clubhouses after the banquet There was dancing and rock music so they almost didn't get to graduate. No Ren Mccormick from footloose wasn't there but it was a total footloose scandal! Long live southern stories!

kimberley

Also my husband now wants to go to catfish louies!

Kim Taylor

My prom was at a fancy banquet hall and had a catered dinner - there was music playing in the background during dinner😜 There was entertainment after the dinner, where students did some bits on stage, and that is when they announced prom king and queen 😜

AnitaBonghit 69

Daddy Silva looks just like Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of Russia's Wagner Group. I've never have seen the two in the same room together now that I think about it. 🤔 Checks out

Kim Taylor

I am in Ontario, Canada and we had a fancy dinner. Class of 2001! Oh lord 😵‍💫😜

Kim Longo

Picture it, Atlanta, circa 1993…. (My best Sophia Patrillo). The prom attendees went out to dinner, then we had our junior/senior prom dance at the Fox Theatre. The year before was similar, but the location was a ceremonial party venue (weddings, etc). We were just your average run of the mill public school, but we raised money & paid tickets for the venues.

Chreebumps

I'm from Sonoma County and our Prom was in San Francisco. We didn't have a meal but I remember there was a lot of Fancy Cheese which I ate continuously for the three and a half hour dance that was our prom. I'd never seen a full cheese wheel before and I've never had that kind of access to cheese since. I'm a dick pig but given the option I might be a cheese whore.

Josie B.

My son had his prom last year and he had a sit down 3-course dinner at a banquet hall…we’re in Canada 😊

Laura Garrett

I’m from the Bay Area and our junior prom was at the school, no dinner. Our senior ball was at a fancy hotel in San Francisco, and dinner was provided, but not great.

Molly Sanders

Your Middletown, CT Sissy here! Please come to CT…if D and S aren’t available I would be so happy to take you two out dancing at that steakhouse bar where she went with Deb and Raina. It’s in a great strip mall next to the hardware store and the dry cleaners right plus it is across the street from the local Denny’s. Also, they live in a VERY Italian town that probably has more Italian bakeries per capita than NYC. They could have done better with that birthday cake for sure!

Tracy Papachristodoulou

I graduated in 1984 from pilgrim high school in Warwick Rhode Island. Absolutely had a sit down dinner. Definitely no in-flight entertainment though. We had a DJ.

Aly

My prom was at the Biltmore House in Asheville just snacks and a DJ- lots of themed decor lol everyone goes out to dinner before.

mess_this_blessica

My father recently told me that if he “wasn’t such an idiot” he would have “had his time” with some guys he met while traveling through Europe in college, so yes, some of us have dick pig fathers.

Kim Sarnoski

I am in NJ and we had a sit down dinner for prom. We had entertainment too. It was at a hotel.

Chelsea Raycraft

I’m in Cali, I had a sit down dinner but just a dj. It was at a hotel not our school. I remember the food was meh

Chelsea Raycraft

Daddy Silvia sharing his last moments with his son made me cry. I can’t imagine losing a child and it was very moving and really tugged at my heartstrings.

BRITNEY PORTER

Our prom was in downtown St. Louis at the Adams Mark hotel. We had catered dinner and a DJ. It was basically a lame, sober wedding reception.

Jujuy
>>101879963

British Columbia- we had dinner ( think it was a different night, though). Class of ‘83, oh lord, indeed!!!

Jujuy
>>101883479

We have a local news person named Anita Bathe … really

Nohemi Carreno
>>101896685

I went to high school in Sonoma county (wine country 🍷) and had our prom 2000 in San Francisco. We had a sit down dinner.

Whit

Going to a fancy restaurant prior to prom which took place at a private venue was the minimum requirement to be cool.I can’t fathom eating & dancing in the cafeteria for prom. The other moms hate Darcey & Stacey.

Kimberly Saginario

Anyone else tear up 💧 along with Darcey when Aniko walked off to prom? Poodle the non-parent be like “that’s what kids dooo” but when this scene was playing, my four year old was at the top of my steps and yelled “mommy come look at me in my Elsa dress”. I just know Darcey was probably looking at Aniko like her princess days seem like yesterday! And it got me when Aniko didn’t even turn around when she walked off. Like when kids are toddlers and babies, they eventually look back to see if mom is following, and then Aniko just left and didn’t even turn around! 😢I was thinking 😭 this is going to happen to me some day. Our days with our kids really are numbered.

MAVIS

NYC in the early 2000s! I had a catered.prom at the Sheraton in Times.Square. I think there was a band.

Quentin

We had a junior prom and senior ball. The prom was dancing and socializing with some punch while the ball was more elegant. We had a sit down dinner first, then we socialized and danced afterwards.

Colette Korber

Our proms had dinners! We went to the high school for the grand March, then drive to Lakeview Ballroom, had dinner there, music, and a magician. We ate and danced then went out and partied all night. The next day we all met at a park for a picnic and fun. I'm from southwestern Pennsylvania

Laura

My jr and sr proms had a dinner, but no other entertainment. Always at a local function hall/event space. It was just a dance after we ate, nothing special. I'm in MA and went to (ugh) catholic schools.

Jeff Nagel

Love that D & S STILL didn’t know the words to their own song in the Uber. 😂😂😂
