I died laughing at Poodle explaining that he lives for drama and mess like this would somehow be a revelation to us. Nicole & Mahmoud are a fast forward for me at this point, a lot of it feels fake and I just don't care about either of them. I disagree with y'all's assessment that these women going to live in cultures with more rigid gender norms are being lied to or somehow misled by their partners. Literally anyone who has even the slightest awareness of the world knows that these things would be expected from a traditional wife, or at minimum a performance of them in certain settings. The Americans on this show just always assume that these men will 'love them enough,' to say 'I don't care' to their culture and values, without even discussing it. It's an immature and selfish view of love, and these people are too old to be this silly.

I have an even more sinister take on Nicole-- she likes being the petite, pretty white woman in Egypt where she gets attention for her looks. If she covers up she will not be noticed. Also, how much did you want to be at his uncle's house after they left and they howled with laughter at her nonsense.

👏🏽THAT PART👏🏽not only is Nicole giving full blown Teal Swan devotee (I you haven’t heard of her look her up🫣)but let’s just flash back to when they 1st met, I’m sure her 2020 wide brimmed hat protected her face but you KNOW her arms & legs were a red as hot tamales. mahmoud knows what she looks like/fashion wise AND his family company is fashion. She’s being a brat, I know at FIT class 1 was how to make a mumu. Also, is mahmoud being childish and bratty, but so is she! She’s REALLY painting a dangerous narrative here. She’s lived there 3 TIMES, I think she thought she was really doin something here by bringing the show, to be like “SEE WHAT A MONSTER HE IS”.😤

I cry laughed at Poodle wanting Nicole and Mahmoud on a plane straight into the ocean 😂 SAME. She’s too much trauma-face for me and he’s so immature it’s painful. It’s pointless to watch this unfold. It’s like fighting with your ex. What a useless way to spend your time.

Friends went to work in Saudi. As single women, they were required to sit in the “family” section of the mall if they wanted to eat. Small children would curse them out- they were seen as “damaged” women because if they were worthy the men in their family would not have allowed them to go to Saudi

I’m not sure about Oussama. On one hand he seems mature and realistic. Talking to someone on social media for 3 years is not the same as spending real life time together. On the other hand I take to heart the idea that he changed his mind. I’m still rooting for them. But there are a lot of guys this year lying to the women because they don’t want the women not to come to their countries and that’s FUCKED UP. Exhibits A, B and C: Oussama, Rishi and Mahmoud

Omg my late mother in law is Debbie. She had a ring on every finger and spoke just like her except more gravely due to the cigarettes. When she had to go to the bathroom she would say “excuse me while I go shed a tear 💧 “ The dark side to this is lots of credit card debt due to the constant thrift shopping. She was IMPOSSIBLE to reason with (which I bet is true for Debbie which is why her own kids seem so exasperated with her). Hoarding tendencies. Also suffered some trauma like Debbie which is why that life full of “romance and intrigue” is really a coping strategy or escapism. 😬 That said, make room on the next episode for Poodle to reenact her every word! I live for it!
