I never noticed how strange Holly talks until this episode. I also was confused about Mary's religion. I thought I heard Apostolic but it looked like a normal Catholic mass - maybe it's a language thing. You two have to check out the Snatch Game episode of Drag Race Down Under. One of the queens portrays gay Jesus and it's hilarious 🤣

Any Latina sissies here to comment on Julio and his mom?? I understand it doesn’t appear “healthy” but Latin culture is so focused on family that I get where they’re coming from. My family has moved away from Puerto Rico but not without a fight and a lot of guilt by family bc you live to provide and take care of family for us it’s just been instilled.

One of the reasons I subscribe to this pod (besides the theater and the production value that’s so much better than others) is that the others do not come close to clearly seeing the issues of the people in the shows. It’s amazing to me how many others are missing Mary’s clear mental illness, for example. Kudos to the queens 👸 👸 !

Unrelated to this week’s pod, but I’m currently hooked on the Colombian Netflix show “Perfil Falso” (False Profile)… it’s set in Cartagena and it’s drama-filled/super steamy (def might have to retreat into an interior room after some scenes)! Made me think of @Poodle, having just visited Cartagena. If you’re looking for a binge-trash series, def give it a try. -Sissy Laura

I took the bar exam in Denver last month and it may have been a more Colorado experience than your hotel. It was at the expo center where they literally do livestock shows. We had our breaks in the event center, which is where they hold the rodeo. Everything smelled like hay. There were tractor ads, fake old timey saloons, and a giant sign saying “Be Cowboy” in the same room where I BS’d my way through wills and trusts essays.
