Hey guys,
I'd like to update you on where I'm at.

In the latest video I asked whether anyone is interested in a video about something I noticed, which seemed like GM had sold-out the American taxpayers that bailed it out.

The response was overwhelming, so I started down that rabbit hole, and Boy, was it rich! Things are far worse than I imagined.

I'm all for Capitalism, but companies should have some moral compass besides greed, and GM apparently lacked one. Since many of the people heading the company then are at the helm now, chances are they still do.

AFAIK nothing I'll show is illegal, but disclosure laws were stretched to the max - most probably because GM management knew that had the details on happenings in China leaked in real time, chances are they wouldn't have received the bailout.

Many Americans are opposed to bailouts in general or specifically opposed this one. Others - like me - supported it, due to the benefits it promised in retaining American manufacturing apabiljties and jobs. However, I doubt that many supporters would have approved it without major amendments had they known details of GM's concurrent dealings on the Chinese front.

It's really been too long for my liking since the previous video, but the rabbit hole was deeper than I anticipated and I realized that I have to cover everything I say with articles and documents. If it reaches them, GM won't hesitate pressing a libel suit for what I intend to show, so I have to be extra careful and separate facts from opinions.

I've pretty much finished the research and have already finished writing about 20minutes of the script, but since it took long and there's a lot more to go, I decided to break at the point I reached (logical point for it in the script) and release the video in two parts, so thay one should arrive soon and the other shortly after.

Meanwhile, here's a video I found, to whet your appetite. This video takes a sensational tone but should give you an idea on some of the things my video will show.

My video's tone is less sensational, although admittedly the text doesn't hide that my feelings sometimes include disgust from The things revealed (and yeah, that's a harsh word).

Tone aside, the vid will be backed by many sources and show various aspects of the deal, which was struck long ago but reverberates to this day.

For example — it's not a chance that until this year, the only EV that GM had produced outside China is the bolt.

Another tidbit — I'm sure you know that if SAIC has 51% of a JV it has controlling interest and can call the shots. But did you know that Chinese bookkeeping regulations also let the controlling stakeholder register 100% of the profits, including those given to GM, in their own books?

With or without GM, China wouldn't have stayed behind — but the GM deals certainly helped shift the balance of powers to a point where in a few years GM will probably die, while SAIC is thriving and as the 2nd largest EV maker after Tesla it is more than ready for a new world.

Chinese managers focused on the long run, while GM managers focused on short-term, stock-pumping profits. As Sandy Munro would have put it, GM played checkers while SAIC played chess. Unfortunately, the pawns sacrificed in GM's game were Holden, GM Korea, GM Europe and the American taxpayers.

It's not a fun video, but I think worth doing. The first part should be released soon - I just need to record the script and then make a video from it. Part 2 should follow shortly after, and then without any other interruptions or delays, the Q&A with my CTO friend.

Till part 1 is out, here's Vince Wade's video for you.

I'm open to any remarks and comments, your inputs help me steer this new ship. For example, would you prefer that I do the CTO Q&A before or after part 2 of this video?

Cheers,
CTD
