Hey guys,

In the August newsletter under the "Production: The Tesla Slider Game" section, I hypothesized that Tesla is:

  • Driving M3 buyers to buy SR LFP.
This frees up M3 LR batteries.
  • Using liberated M3 LR batteries for MY.
This removes the need to use 4680s and Structural-pack for MYs.
  • Make MYs ONLY with 2170.
Making one version only is more efficient
  • Use liberated MY 4680s to make Semi earlier than previously planned.

In this excellent video by Warren Redlich and Jordan Giesige (The Limiting Factor), at 08:29 they also discuss the same idea (They missed the M3 part, but added a similar part which I missed, which is using LFP for storage - this also frees up 2170s for MY).

It seems that Warren noticed at the factory that they are not currently making 4680 MYs!

Seems like partial confirmation of the hypothesis. Entire video recommended,

Cheers,
CTD
