When I was a child, it was just me and my mother. We lived in a property owned by my grandma, an old, three-story farmhouse right at the fringe of the woods. It was far off the road, down a long, unlit, gravel driveway. It felt very isolated at night, being so distant from any other houses, set in an area that hadn't been inhabited for thirty years before we started living in it.

Plot twist: the supernatural beings were conjured by witch grandma to scare our heroine and her mother into eviction, so she could sell the house and turn a profit lmao. Definitely one of the nastier, more hair-raising 'pastas I've had the privilege of listening to you narrate.

The fact that we don’t get a clear answer is the scariest thing about this story 😱

Ambiguous spooky stuff scratches a very specific itch. One thing I love about stories that take place with a forest setting or feature is how much of an “old world horror” feeling it evokes a la The VVitch. Old world horror referring to just how dark the natural world was/still can be. These are always enjoyable to listen to! Thanks as always Victoria 💚

Oh absolutely!! The fear of not knowing is what really tips it over the edge and makes it truly eerie. I agree. Old world horror is definitely slept on! We need more of it for sure 🖤 Oh good! I'm so glad. I love doing these
