hi pals, I'm aware I was holding off on another one of these till spooky month but this is kind of an urgent thing I'm doing it.

last week my dog Cooper started having what I thought was a tummy ache from gas, arching his back and whining, which happens sometimes. I hold him till it passes and he's right as rain. this happened again on Friday and passed quickly again so I thought he was ok and just having a bad tummy week. Sunday night he began arching and whining but now shaking and panting. if you're not a dog person, this usually means they're in pain. I monitored him that night and did some research learning that what I thought was tummy ache signs can also be back pain :/

Sunday morning he wasn't better so I took him to the ER vet. Upon checking him out the Dr has diagnosed him with a soft tissue injury somewhere near his back. they gave him an anti-inflammatory injection and prescribed him medication to take for the next 10 days. I was instructed to monitor him for 48 hrs while the medication takes hold to see what improves, what doesn't, how he's doing etc. we will have a follow up appointment and if there's not a drastic improvement we will be doing x-rays and a full blood panel to see what else we need to do.

currently we're on our second full day of meds. yesterday Coop had two muscle spasms that lasted 20+ minutes (he shakes a lot and is in severe discomfort. if you've ever had one you kinda can understand what its like) one early today around 3 am and finally one today in the morning. now, the injection did wonders ... and it faded. when I called yesterday the dr told me this was normal and he was feeling really good on Sunday so we need to let the meds take hold, so to monitor him for another 24 hrs at least.

he IS doing better between times! he eats, takes his meds like a good boy, goes to the bathroom etc. I do know we aren't out of the woods yet and so to try and offset some of the very high vet bills for my baby I'm throwing up this sale!
