HEY GUYS!

New Q&A video, this time I'll be answering Jig and Collin's questions!

I won't lie, I had a bit too much fun with this one! xD

Some extra content about the Night of the Storm® I didn’t add to the video, in case you’re curious! xD

On the wind scale (which is 0-12, 12 being a hurricane) our storm was rated 11. It was also raining like in a biblical flood.

A guy almost fell overboard - a containing door hit him on the chest and he was nearly thrown over the railing. Had he not held on, he would’ve been lost at sea and that still makes my whole body shiver!

Waves were apparently around 6-7 meters high and we were thrown around like rag dolls. Some people on the ship had been sailing for over 20 years and said this was one of the worst storms they had ever experienced.  2 people got knocked out cold!

I managed to balance and serve 8 ice cream bowls on a tray to a full table - people clapped when I was finished like in a tumblr story

Around 2:00am I was too seasick to finish my shift and was dismissed because of show dangerous it was if I wasn’t able to keep my balance!

I’ll tell this story forever, to everyone who has ears. My poor grandchildren!

Now, after all that we all felt like family. I’ll forever miss everyone in that ship, and the bond we built in such a short time. The crew was amazing and everyone was always cheerful and ready to help each other!

And because of that, we were able to overcome the storm and enjoy some of the most insanely surreal and exciting days of our lives! Long live the beautiful Eendracht!

Thank you guys so much for your incredible support!

I would absolutely love to know your thoughts on this video, and if you've ever been on a Tall Ship or would like to sail one day!

I live on Lake Superior, so I've seen a lot of tall ships . However, I've never been on one! That sounds and looks like a lot of fun!

This is SO COOL! I really appreciate you taking the time to make a video for us, as well as the little Q&A! Seeing those huge waves was really breathtaking, and it really did make me think of Darktide when you talked about the ship you were on! The pictures and videos of the sail, the dolphins, and the waves breaking against the sunrise-horizon was just stunning! I find it really cool that people from so many different backgrounds have come together to sail a ship. That must make for some pretty interesting stories to share with everyone! Me, personally, love when someone from a different country or nation tells stories and what life is like for them. I’m also really happy that nobody got SERIOUSLY hurt during the storm, I can only imagine how crazy that was like, it reminds me of stories of people sailing the seven seas! When you said it was like staring into the eyes of the abyss, that reminded me of Lord Huron, how one of the songs, Vide Noir, describes of ‘Staring into the pure, black void’. It also reminds me of another Lord Huron song, Back From The Edge, and also Lord Huron’s early albums like Into The Sun and We Went Wild, that were more themed toward the sea and sailing. never really gotten to experience the open sea or a ship’s community like that, and I’m so happy you did, and that you had fun. Also, the story of how you got hoisted up with the sail on that rope was really funny, it really does sound like something you’d experience on a ship like that. I can also imagine that happening with Steban if he ever tried to sail a ship, or maybe that’s just Rupesh’s crew’s average day- I can only think of what it would be like to take flight from the deck 😂.loved seeing Huron enjoy the ocean and the hiking trips, he looks like he’s having a great time! You and your art gives me so much Inspiration, one of my missions in life is to draw or make stories as good as you do! So it’s really eye-opening and exciting to see what you do, and the things that give you inspiration and motivation to keep making your art and stories to share with us! Again, it is just so awesome that you showed us your adventures on that big ship, it almost seemed like an adventure Steban and Martin might go on, and it looked amazing! And that last part of you holding your hands up to the sky while the waves crashed down was really cool, too! Thank you so, so much for sharing your experiences and everything you do, Skailia! I hope you have a wonderful day! :) OH! One more thing I almost forgot- The hurricane-speed winds you experienced on the ship really remind me of the wind that blew the boat to the shore where they built Oddwind- and, of course, gave the town it’s name!

An unforgettable adventure hahaha, I was once on an ancient galleon, It had been used to make a film from that era, it felt like going back to the 1600s, it was a special experience

Another fantastic Q&A video! I can't imagine what an incredible adventure that must've been! I long to experience something like that for myself. The views of the sky and clouds out at sea must be indescribably beautiful on a calm day! There is such a rich tapestry of stories that can be woven from experiences like this! You all must've been pretty on edge going through that storm, especially at night! Wow! 😄 It sounds like it must've been a religious experience for a lot of you! 🤣 Especially for the guy who almost fell overboard! I'm glad he was okay! I think I mentioned once before that several years back I briefly considered trying to join the merchant marine. It might not have been as romantic an experience as this, but I'm sure it would've had its moments 😁 I know that a life at sea isn't necessarily easy or always pleasant, but this was during a period of my life when I was really feeling an itch to get out of my hometown and see the world - to get away from things for a while and have some new experiences, and find some new challenges. I would love to see east Asia, or Egypt while sailing through the Suez Canal, or heck, even stand watch going through the Straight of Malacca, and being on the lookout for pirates! 😁 I need some danger and excitment like that, you know? 🤣 These are the kinds of things that fueled my interest in the idea. And also videos like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMnWK6apliQ Unfortunately I wasn't able to make this happen, because it seems that maritime shipping is a difficult industry to get into if you're an American. As far as I know there are only two maritime schools in the entire country today, and they both have requirements and restrictions that were difficult or impossible for me to meet. But it seemed like it would've been a good way to reorient my life and gain some new perspective. It certainly would've been a far cry from anything I was used to, having lived my whole life so far inland, away from the ocean, and not having traveled outside of the US very much. But I felt that was what I needed - something that would give a shock to my system and get me out of my comfort zone. I'm still hoping that I'll find some other way to do that, because I still very much have the desire to live and experience grand adventures of my own like you did here! Your experiences on the Eendracht, and the close relationship you forged with the other people aboard, are such a unique thing that you don't find in many other places, and that's the kind of richness that really gives meaning to life! I love the way you tell this story, and the editing of this video! Your descriptions of the voyage along with the music and footage really capture the adventurous feeling of it all. Your story about the storm sounds almost like you could be telling it to a captivated audience in a seedy seaside tavern over a tall mug of ale! 🤣 I look foward to more of these Q&A videos, and hearing about your future adventures!

I'm so glad you're doing well! It sounds like you have cooler sailing stories than I do now XD

literally, I don't know how you can watch it once! My favorite Q&A so far ❤️
