So let's talk about NO NORTH!

This is a big one, so I suggest you grab a snack! hehe

This video took me a very long time to edit and prepare, but I had a lot of fun recording the answers to Ap0lloMillo and Maverick's questions!

I promise I tried to be direct with my answer, but I cannot talk about how I created No North without telling you about my journey up to that point. So many things influenced and motivated me along the way, it's truly been a wild ride!

I'm very excited to hear your thoughts on this video, it'd truly mean a lot to me!

Thank you all so much for your support, thanks to you all No North is a reality! <3

That's such cute and fun story with the special books❤️

Using animals in story telling is proven strategy. It's a pity lot's of people disregard it baby or furry stuff. Animals are universal and like you said they represent sertain characteristics. I really like anthro-stories for the creativity on desings and all

This was awesome to watch 💖💖 No North to me is the very first web comic featuring dogs that introduced me to the awesome community that I am proud to be apart of. I was inspired to (hopfully one day 😅) make a comic of my own. And all together, become an artist 💖 it all started with my discovery of No North. Thank you so much for making these Q&A videos and for giving us all the opportunity to ask questions ❤️ I look forward to the next one! 😀 keep being awesome and keep being adventurous. 💖💖

This is such a fascinating video! It might even be my favorite so far in this Q&A series 😁 It's just incredible to think you've been working on this story for nine years, wow!! And not including U&A either, that's just amazing! I can't believe that story is over a decade old now. It's really inspiring, and I think humbling in a way, to see how much this story has become a part of your life, and how much of yourself you've put into it and how diligently you've pursued the goal of completing it 🙂 I really liked your comments here about the movie Rango, there's something I've gotta say about that! 😂 I remembered you mentioning that movie before, and I saw it for the first time a little over a year ago I think? I remember watching the scene where Rango first arrives in the town of Dirt, and he goes into the saloon. And I couldn't help but notice how similar it looked to the scene in Shut Eye where Steban wanders into the saloon in the ghost town! It was just a very cool "Aha!" moment when I made that connection 😄 It was so neat to pick out an instance of that inspiration showing itself in your work! It's also funny how something so random like that can be the little spark that sets something so big and wonderful into motion! A grand idea that might even change your life in some way! Gonna have to pick up Don Quixote too, I've never read that one before 😉 And I still need to read The Anatomy of Story too! Kryat has specifically mentioned that one to me in the past. It sounds like a great foundational guide that could help a lot with my own, sadly languishing story ideas. It also sounds like having a central theme is really important to writing a good story, and I think this video series has helped impress that upon me 🙂 Finally, I really love how you describe the impact that creating this story has had on you, and all of your final comments in this video. I get some sense of how profound this creative journey has been for you. That, I think, is already pretty evident, but your words here help to really drive home how interwoven this story is with your very being. When I look at your art and think about the lore and the world and the characters you've created, and the totality of everything you've shown us - the beauty that you've shared with us and the passion you have, it gives me such a deep appreciation for you, not just as an artist or writer, but as a person. You have something truly great within you, and it's a privilege to be among the people you're sharing that with! Sorry again for the long post 😅 I'll try to condense these more in the future, but I felt there was so much to comment on here!

I relate so much to the story of No North, I can see the passion that it has and how much it means to you, said it once and I’ll say it again your a better storyteller than Disney producers and it blows my mind how much of an impact your story had on my life, oh and thanks btw for answering my question means a lot

When I found out about Lord Huron something magical happened and now I’m addicted 🥹 A lot of story parts of my upcoming comic “Into Unknown” were inspired by Lord Huron’s music ahah

And I also remember seeing the similar stayue of Don Quixote long ago… I loved staring at it for a long while and observing the differences between those two characters haha!

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to ask the questions and for you to make a video for the response this is truly awesome. I love learning about of where you started from and what inspired you to create the story. I also remember watching Rango quite a while back and also enjoyed it. Absolutely totally agree with you on the western story and film genre about the mystery. The story you create is just full of life and it’s truly special. I would like to also thank you for taking the time for this opportunity to answer my questions. Absolutely looking forward to see what happens next in the story keep being awesome Skailla! ☺️💖
