HEY GUYS! IT'S PAGE DAAAAY!

And boy oh boy what a page it is! Who remembers this old mini comic I made forever ago?

It's officially a part of the main comic, for poor Steban's misfortune, hehe!

The rats are definitely not trying this again!

I hope, that Steban don't be caught by Baltazar and Billy, because the Evil will be gone from their side so soon, i believe in this.

Good morning! Due to his overconfidence, Steban's fate in this is only to have him end up as Banzai's!

Warren went all out on the cactus, left no chance for poor Steban. A bum full of spike!

Maverick

Ohhhhhhhhh no here we go again the look on Martin’s face says it all. Poor Steban and wow all the cactus on the balcony that’s definitely going to leave more than a mark.

Oh no, poor Steban - this is why we don't jump off the roof backwards with our eyes closed! 😂 Warren is probably right though, I don't think the "rats" will be trying this again! I LOVE seeing this page compared to the original comic! It's so cool to see how your style has evolved since then! Keep up the awesome work!! 💖

It looks like someone is getting the best sleep of their life. 😂😂😂

HOLY S**T I KNEW IT! I SAW THIS COMING! I knew I sensed a page like this coming up! Oh, it was at this moment that Steban knew... he f**ked up. Looks like his overconfidence in safely escaping led to him being in a painful situation. The cacti are out! Don't get me started on Martin's expression; it's priceless! 🤣 I guess it's safe to say that Warren knew about Steban escaping at some point in the first book and decided to get sneaky and pull this hilarious stunt on him. He played the cacti card on Steban! 🌵 Well, jumping off the roof backward didn't work, as Steban got his *ss full of spikes! How unfortunate for him! Also, I love how this page came from the original comic strip years ago; it adds a lot of action to it. I hope this will teach Steban not to jump off the roof backward. "O the indignity!" - Gordon (from "Thomas & Friends") Oh, and one more thing: I think when Warren says the "rats" won't be doing this again, it's a codename that refers to Steban not wanting to escape him again.

Haha glad to see this comic finally come to life in the actual story 😆. Can’t wait to see what this duo will get up to!

After so long we finally reached the scene! Who would think that after so long that scene would be canon to the comic. It’s very as funny as it was back then, even if it's on Stevan's behalf, and is a nice inversion of the scene of the previous book. It’s also a nice way to compare how much the comic has changed in all of its years of development. The one that I have noticed more is on Stevan and Martin, because even if their designs are more or less the same in their characteristics, it's notable how the way to draw dogs and the style has evolved over time; both are very nice in their own right and enjoyable in equal measure, although I preferred the expression on the new page, I think they are funnier and more in point. But the background definitely is the one aspect that shows how much the style of the comic has changed, especially in the colors that I find have more contrast, something that I, personally, prefer. Another thing that I prefer is the way the clouds are drawn: the use of different colors gives them volume and, at the same time, makes them very lovely and the use of orange is a great choice to remind us that it’s still early in the morning. The cacti are very nice with their flowers and variety of shapes and I really love the little detail in the window, that’s attention to detail. The one thing that I don’t really like has to be Warren's face, the choice to have him up front the best; I like that his muzzle does have volume, but it’s still looks somewhat odd, maybe it's the eras or the fact that he doesn’t seem to be on the pillow. Well, I do really like the sound that Stevan’s makes; the stars are a great touch. Overall this is a nice page to conclude this sequence, that even if it's just laying the ground by reintroducing our duo, is still a fun sequence that gives us a moment to see our two protagonists and make them interact in their funny banter. It’s important to feel like they are friends and these less intense moments are a good moment for that type of development. This page also develops another aspect of their characters that I have always found one of their most interesting. Martin is a face value not very close, he’s not one to make friends at ease, a lot of times he's bitter and he doesn’t go around showing affection, broadly he doesn’t drive around other dogs: Stevan is the opposite, he looks friendly, he shows his affection and comfort the dogs around him, broadly he drives around dogs. But in reality, as we have seen in the comic, it’s actually the opposite: Martin is more open than Stevan. We as an audience get to see Martin’s emotional range and his specific feelings of the situation and how it affects his goals; his emotions are more readable to us and his relation to the town is always cut and clear, only knowing what we know, making him relatable and closer to being an audience surrogate. Meanwhile Stevan’s emotions are implicit, only to be understood with more context and infer, his relation with the town and his citizens had layers unknown to us and his deeper thoughts and reflections are left as hidden as his past; he’s more another mystery that hides and wants to be hid and that’s the curious part: it goes beyond our perspective as readers, it permeates their relationship. In a close look it’s very clear that Martin ends up opening more than Stevan, who keeps actively more closed than Martin. Even if Martin doesn’t do this from a place of friendship, when certain circumstances are in place he ends up telling Stevan his emotions, thoughts, goals and internal conflicts and motivations. On the contrary, Stevan never share this type of feelings to Martin and when circumstances give him an opportunity he actively avoids sharing anything, always masking it with happy faces; when he comforts Martin he [Stevan] gets to show what are his principles, way to see the world and lifestyle, but even if those traits informs who he is, he never says this from a more personal way, so he shows who he is as face value without going deep down. That aspect of their characters even has an impact in their dynamic as a duo: Stevan's way to push Martin buttons and suggestions have a special impact on Martin that push him forwards more than anyone could do, while Martin pursuit challenges Stevan more than ever that, hopefully, will leave him to open up. At least in this page, and the scene at large, seems to be making progress in the development of their relationship, even if it’s just laying the groundwork, that’s still important. Honestly I’m very excited for the next page, since I don’t know if we are going to change perspective or continue with our duo, either way I’m sure the next page will be as good as these ones. The plot is starting to unfold and even if it’s still a long time to be completely unfolded, it's great that things are always advancing in a certain way; that’s an aspect of this comic that makes it such a nice read.

I should’ve seen that coming. Why does Steban always puts himself in these painful and reckless situations? And what happened to his tail? (With the bandage?)
