How have you all been??

Can you believe Steban still has the nerves to be cocky? Martin just can't. He's probably shaking like jelly now, though! That was indeed a VERY narrow escape!

And into the sunset we goooo!

I would LOOOOVE to hear  your thoughts on this page! You guys are the best!

Thank you so much for your support!!

Hey skailla just wanted to say that you’re amazing 💕

Considering the events of Oddwind, I wonder where the duo’s gonna be able to go to safety now, though at least the biggest danger has passed (for now at least). Great page Skailla 👍!

The lighting and strong shaddows look great here

I’m sooo excited for the next page. I wonder if they’re going to go back to oddwind or not!! Great page skailla

I hope we get to see deliah join steaban and Martin soon

Sketchy

... and they got away! Paws in the air for Steb and Marty! So excited to see what's next.

Beautiful page the lighting and everything looks great and Steban finally escaped. Love this page!!!!

Haha! Score for team Eveler! Now that they have the compass, would returning to Oddwind be a wise choice? 😬 I predict him and martin getting arrested and the compass getting confiscated by Baltazar who could then say he found it single handedly

Maverick

Ooooooh looks like Hank is quite stuck there something there’s me it won’t be long before he catches up to them again. Ahhhhhhhhhh Steban you always sure have the spirit don’t you ☺️😂 I can only imagine how Martin is feeling he must surely be feeling traumatised. Hope you have an awesome week Skailla

Alright Steban, don't get cocky. But am so glad that they're okay... for now, at least.

And our heroes make their escape, "riding" off into the sunset! What a great scene! 👏 And as we would expect, Steban has to deliver a parting shot 😁 And oh my gosh, that bottom panel is stunningly gorgeous!!! 😍 The colors and lighting are beautiful! This another great example of what has always been one of my favorite things about No North - all the beautiful background art and this majestic setting that you've created! I'm excited to see where the story goes from here, now that the boys have the compass!

And our boys have escaped! Not unscathed, but in one piece, at least! I just love the detail in panel one in Hank’s eyes, where you can see exactly where that sand hit! And it didn’t just hit his face, either, it went and actually stuck in his eye! I can’t imagine how painful that must be! I think that the way you drew that in his eyes could be interpreted as sand, blood, or both, and I really like how you did it. Just goes to show how long a little detail like that can go. And you can also see by the expression on his face is not just pure anger, but gritty pain as well. Like the realization that he or his fellow scorpions couldn’t catch Steban or Martin, or retrieve the compass, Rat and Esther might potentially be fatally wounded, and on top of all that, you just got sand thrown straight into your eye, and you’re stuck under a rock. It just amazes me how much you can capture in your character’s expressions! Poor Hank, I know he’s supposed to be a villain but I still feel really sorry for him. And in the second panel, how Steban immediately turns to being cocky the second someone’s not at his throat is really funny and in-character for him. He reminds me of Robin Hood, except that he’s not too heroic or clever when it comes to things like this. It must feel pretty satisfying to have defeated the most feared outlaws in the land. I also love how Martin immediately corrects him, like ‘Hey! You can’t do that! That’s not how stories are supposed to go!’. I think I definitely would’ve taken Martin’s side in this situation. The last panel is just absolutely stunning, our heroes running off into the sunset, like AeroDog said. The detail of Steban and Martin’s shadows is just amazing, not many artists know how to draw shadows like that correctly, and you did it very well! I really like how while Martin is hightailing it out of there, back to the danger, facing the open road (Or, in this case, open desert), Steban is looking back to Hank, smirking like ‘Ha, we beat you, scorpion!’ (Or maybe I’m wrong, he could be looking back at Hank angrily). Lastly, I’m not sure if this was intentional, but in page 173 when our boys get chased into the canyon in the last panel, there’s a tall rock dividing where both of them are going, making them both go seperate ways. This could be some kind of symbolism for how when Martin and Steban went their seperate ways back when Martin tried to leave Oddwind, but then had to turn back and met Steban in that Saloon fight, ultimately ending up back together again. However, I think it’s more likely to show that how Steban and Martin both came from very different roads (A reference to an art piece ‘Two Roads’ you did for No Northvember one year), this shown in how both of our boys’ paths are separated by that rock, but then by this page, they both came together to help each other get out of the canyon and defeat the scorpions (for now), like how they came together in the story to figure out the mystery of Oddwind, finding the Northless Compass, and, hopefully, finding the missing dogs! This was an awesome page, I’m so glad that our boys escaped the scorpions! I’m very excited to see how the story will pick up from here.

The boys have escaped yet another dangerous situation. I wonder what mess they’ll get into next 👀
