Hello everyone! I'm slowly but surely using Blender to sculpt the face and body for Sakura Agata, an oligarch character from Bloodblade Fight Club: Carnage who serves as Akira's handler and the liaison of the Yakuza and Hiroshi Kawamoto on the island. One technique that you can use in Blender that I find crucial for face sculpting is the drag-and-drop for png and jpg format pictures. In previous tutorials I showed how you can take a reference picture of someone's face and make front and side facing references using something like Chat GPT or Nano Banana. This technique is really useful because it's cheaper than paying a ton of money to get stock reference pictures that aren't synced with your preferences. You can for instance take four or five faces/phenotypes, put them through the model and tell it to blend it into one face and give you front and side references for it. That is what I've done essentially with Sakura, except I made her face follow some generic "Sino-Japanese" phenotype renditions from anthropology sites. You drag and drop the reference for the front-face from your desktop directly onto blender and position the Genesis 8 or 9 model. Since these are stock models and in the case of 9 have no gender (genders are morph specific) you can essentially use the sculpt mode tools to shape the face. I've posted solid and wireframe shots of the face sculpted to Sakura's reference, with the reference directly behind it as a guide to "trace" the model. Since Genesis 9 is a very high poly model with lots of faces, there's great room for detail and skin texture. In the coming tutorials I will show how I use different brushes to produce idiosyncracies- epicanthic folds, wrinkles, asymmetries. But for your starter sculpt, use the symmetry option on the top right and "elastic grab" to approximate the general shape before getting to the details of the skull and face. The goal when all is done in blender is to import it to Daz Studio as a morph, and load the morph onto a Genesis 9 model.
