I wonder if she exploited whatever trick the Akimichi use to change size in order to keep moving? Like, they can shift to 40 feet tall or just enlarge a single arm and their body still works properly. So maybe she meant she was able to fudge her body into "working" properly anyway. Or she's turning fat stores into new blood, I dunno.
