Funny how you said someone should get n-buna-san a girlfriend cuz last week he just randomly dropped that he's been married for a while and practically created chaos among the Japanese fans on Twitter. First he dropped a song out of the blue on his personal YT channel. The only description was "please marry me", and the lyrics say something like "I want to dedicate my life to you" or smth like that. So the fandom went wild with memes. "Of course I'll marry you n-buna!" An hour later he posted a column on the official fanclub page, saying he's married. Shared a cute story about going to the beach in the past with his wife, and that he gave her a sunflower when he proposed. Romantic stuffs, yanno. This is the most he's ever shared about his personal life, so the shock was very warranted. But then things turned crazy: some fans pointed out that he apparently he used some vague and past tense words to describe his wife in that announcement column (like saying "she was my sun" instead of "she is my sun"). Bro built his entire brand around writing about parting ways with a significant other (mostly due to death). And he's also known for producing multilayered writings. The fans are so well trained to scrutinize his every writing for angsty, dead significant-other plot undertones (often found in Yorushika songs) at this point. So the fans didn't know whether to congratulate him or to offer condolences. "Aww congratulations!" "I'm happy for you!" "Wait, the tense sound a bit odd, has she passed away?" "Huh?" "Why is Japanese language so difficult?" "OMG you guys who said congrats are rude." So they fought, as internet people do. And me with my very basic Japanese language understanding spent all night worrying if I had said congrats to a guy who lost his wife. I didn't have a single clue what was going on. The next morning n-buna-san had to edit his column to be more clear (his wife's alive and well). Was the most stressful weekend of my life ngl lol. Anyway, just a crazy story.
