Also, for the money in their world. 100 copper coins in total is 1 silver coin. 100 silver coins is 1 gold coin. Then 10 gold coins is worth 1 platinum coin.

The thing that really gets me is the dire wolf fang. The merchant buys it from them for a silver piece because it's a charm believed to ward off evil. Who was wearing this charm? The goblin. This solitary goblin was taking a break from whatever it was doing to refill its water skin when it gets jumped by six armed humans, with nothing to defend it but a short sword and faith in this charm. We don't know much about goblins yet, but they are clearly sapient creatures, closer to humans than to beasts. Are they evil creatures hell-bent on destroying humanity? "Lesser" beings that lack the capacity to rise above the barbaric appearance that we have seen so far? Or are these goblins just like the protagonists? Impoverished outcasts living on the fringe of a much more complex goblin society forced to wield weapons to protect the few coppers or silvers they have?
