This episode (and all the others) was brought to you by the twisted minds at Shaft! Bleach and ammonia are both common household chemicals. While each is already highly caustic and potentially lethal if ingested, when both of them are mixed together they create a toxic gas called chloramine which is extremely dangerous to inhale. Sufficiently large quantities produced in a sealed space could potentially kill a lot of people, though since Madoka shattered a window when she threw that bucket of the stuff out the ventilation that created likely prevented the worst from occurring. I suspect that is the reason the familiar chose to attack Madoka directly, since its plan was pretty much foiled at that point. And yes, that was "just" a familiar I believe, since it did not drop a grief seed, it's labyrinth seems to be just a singular space rather than a huge maze, and Sayaka was able to kill it so easily despite not even knowing what her own powers were yet. Familiars are still insanely dangerous if left to their own devices for too long.
