I did it. Finally joined a Patreon that cost more than $1, all for the Madoka Rebellion movie. However, looking up your Patreon and seeing Railgun on here, that may have been the clincher. Though, I SERIOUSLY hope that you end up watching Index and Accelerator as well, since it’s all one complex story unfolding against itself. I’ve loved your videos on anime, and some anime music, for years now, and I’m happy to support this effort in a small way.

The "Big Spider ar " was pretty fun. You can't know because you've barely dipped your toes into Railgun, but most of the best arcs of Toaru are DEEPLY disturbing and obscenely clandestine, over many episodes. This Big Spider thing is groovy because it's more grounded in the "everyman politics" of a city based around superpowers and the plebs who clean the espers' bathrooms. So to speak. If anything, considering what I know after seeing all of the Tparu anime series, there could/should have been lots and lots and lots more stories about the day-to-day tribulations of such a fantastical city and it's citizens. Any way, seeing this "gang violence affecting the civilians" and "law enforcement officer with a youth spent relishing romance and fulfillment with delinquents/gangs" is a nice balance to "Are we all gonna die?" and "Are we doomed?" and "Can I really save them?!?" of most of the rest of the anime. I cherish a series that gives me good views of the macro and micro of anime life. Toaru definitely could have done better, but that doesn't change how much I adore what Toaru did give me.

I am not going to lie, I hate that you dismissed episodes 17-19 as simply 'filler'. Because there are a lot of good character moments for multiple of the side-characters that build their characters overall. Just because they are slice of life episodes isn't enough to label them as pointless or filer... Do you know how many 'filler' moments there are in anime that help build up characters, or expand on a character? Heck, the Big Spider arc is considered filler, but it helped the character of Konori a lot overall. If it was like 20 episodes of filler arc, that's one thing, but 3 episodes? That is insane to me.
