Gil keeps loosing to the plot. Whenever he does anything the plot steps in and says "Nuh-uh, heres some random bs that kills you"

I would agree that Strange Fake is better animated than SL. But at the same time, I feel like thats almost natural, because it seems like they had more time to work on this single season compared to the two seasons of SL. If they started production in 2022/2023, they would have had about 3/4 years if they worked continuously on it, and I honestly don't think they worked anywhere near that long on SL. To conclude, Aniplex is probably much more willing to invest in Fate, that they postponed the anime multiple times and gave the production team such a long time to work on it (which was probably also a result of the production issues they had). But this is all just speculation, and I could be completely wrong.

So, when "she" appeared (Not giving spoilers to anyone just watching this only to the name reveal, also spoilersfor this episode only, they skipped a fuck-ton, lol). She actually forcefully sealed away Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon. Which she used her own "Key of the King's Law (a higher-authority key to the treasury) Mainly now stripping of his vault offensively and defensively. She basically did a Loophole on Gilgamesh. Which in turn made it very possible to permanently hurt Gilgamesh. Alcides and True Berserker dealing damage. Especially pass the armor too. The, Light Novel & Manga. • Novel (Vol 4-5): The internal monologue reveals Ishtar's petty malice; she didn't just want to kill him, she wanted to humiliate him by using his own treasury against him. • Manga: The artwork highlights the sheer scale of True Berserker, contrasting the massive divine beast against the skyscrapers of Snowfield to show the "End of the World" atmosphere. (Btw, it True Berserker's name was and has been revealed earlier, but hasn't in the anime)

To also add more to this episode. Anime vs. Novel Differences & Cut Content & Pacing. Saber's Role: In the novel, Richard (Saber) had a more extended exchange of "Excalibur blasts" vs. Gilgamesh's treasury before the lock occurred. The anime "nerfed" this exchange, reducing the scale of the beam spam to focus on the Ishtar twist. The "Jobber" Allegation: The anime framing emphasized Gilgamesh's "jobbing" (losing due to arrogance) even more than the text, as the internal monologues explaining why he threw the key away were largely trimmed, making the error look purely careless. The Duel: Gold vs. Lion The first half of the episode was a spectacle of "Quantity vs. Quality." The Fake Excaliburs Richard (Saber), realizing he was outmatched, used his Noble Phantasm Excalibur (the ability to turn any object into a holy sword) to launch a barrage of light attacks. • The Strategy: Richard didn't try to win a melee exchange; he turned debris and broken weapons into "Excaliburs" to counter the sheer volume of Gilgamesh's projectile spam. • Gilgamesh's Reaction: Gilgamesh was amused rather than threatened. He recognized Richard not as a "King" on his level, but as a "mongrel with a loud roar," keeping the Gate of Babylon at a low output to toy with him. The Distraction This duel served a critical tactical purpose: Tunnel Vision. Because Gilgamesh was focused on the flashy light show of Richard's attacks in front of him, he failed to sense the subtle shift in the atmosphere above him until it was too late. Richard, unknowingly, was the reason Ishtar could get close enough to activate the key. • The Error: As Gilgamesh reached to pull Ea (The Sword of Rupture), the golden ripples of the Gate turned into red digital static (Error Signals). • The Cause: Ishtar held the Key of the King's Law—the physical key Gilgamesh had thrown away in Episode 1/Volume 1 to Tine, claiming he "didn't need a door he could open anytime." Ishtar retrieved it, and by turning her key, she overrode his administrative rights to his own treasury. True Archer (Alcides) did not hesitate. • Honorless Strike: Unlike a typical Fate duel where opponents announce attacks, Alcides fired the Hydra Venom arrow the microsecond the Gate closed. • Visual: The episode ended with the arrow striking Gilgamesh's armor, the venom beginning to dissolve his Spirit Origin immediately, contrasting the "Golden" King turning into black mud/dust. Tine Chelc The Master. Tine was shown in a state of absolute shock. Her arc in this episode shifted from "Reverence" to "Despair." She watched the invincible King—who she believed would fix her tribe's land—fall not to a stronger warrior, but to a "trick." True Berserker.... get ready for a name you might or might not know, if it ever reveals Gil's reaction.
