One thing I really like about Zoku Owarimonogatari is the development of Araragi's character since Tsukimonogatari. In Tsukimonogatari, he realized he was overusing his vampiric powers and relying on them too heavily, causing him to stray from his normal self. However in Zoku Owarimonogatari, it's shown just how powerful Araragi is on his own, especially after accepting Oshino Ougi. Without relying on vampirism at all, he turned his entire town into an illusory world without even meaning to. Oshino Ougi who was once his greatest adversary, became his greatest ally and failsafe. Zoku Owarimonogatari is fundamentally a story about the importance of self-reflection.
