Welcome to the new arc! Hope you're settling into the new normal. There's already been a few changes right off the bat. When Keiichi says his parents have left him alone in the house, that is for the same funeral as in the beginning of the first arc, except in that one Keiichi went with his parents while this time he stayed behind. He's also become friends and been inducted into the club much earlier than before, perhaps why his parents were okay with him staying in Hinamizawa alone? I feel like that's a little context that is worth knowing that isn't spelled out in the anime. Then there's Shion and whole romcom angle being thrown in. But as you asked, is there even time for romance before the horror sets in? As for the opening teaser, Iirc they should be fine going forward. I think this is the only one that is particularly spoilery, though it can still be said that it has its use to point you towards two characters that might be very important this arc. But, there's only one way to find out. Maybe you should keep large kitchen knives out of reach of small children though, just to be safe.
